EXACTLY.

If you have exceptionally deep pockets it's all just super cool. I mean, I LOVE an exotic mopar build. But for most guys all that stuff makes it out of reach and they're stuck with a 450hp engine.

6 grand will get you a INDY 360-1 top end package. That's a deal as far as I'm concerned for the basic package.
2500 for the 190 Trick Flow. and a good deal

How much do you think it costs to prep a W2 head? Or a W5?

Your lack of experience shows you haven’t a clue about ANY W series head except what you’ve read, which is mostly written by guys like you with no experience.
 
If the average guy was willing to run W type heads then that's what the average build would be, since it ain't. Then you either got to convince them, which hasn't worked so far or build something they will use.
 
The big problem with W 2 or 5 series heads is the fact they are out of production. Nobody makes intakes for those heads either, unless you count INDY and they want over a grand for that piece. Another issue with building those heads are the cost of currently produced rocker arms. HS is the only option that I know of, and those are over $1600. Headers are in the same boat. TTI is the only currently produced header for those heads. $$$

What is exotic? Offset rockers are just offset rockers… period. Nothing exotic at all.

Lol. Of course you can make comparisons. Within realistic limits, head flow is head flow, displacement is displacement. It doesn't matter the brand. I of course I knew this would trigger people but I really DGAF.

What’s the big deal with offset rockers? Are they special? I don’t get it.

Headers are headers. Either LA or W2. If the W2 head has both exhaust bolt homes LA headers do work. I ran LA headers for years with W2 heads.

What custom stuff?

I’m an average guy and my W2 engine is very average. There is nothing “special” about W2’s other then they run extremely hard for an old iron head.

Tell me why a W2 is not average?

I have to ask if you have ever seen a W2?

I wasn't calling out w2's for being leakers. But w5s are.

I was calling out w2's for being cast iron.

Love w2's. But they ain't modern head by any stretch. And they require a lot of special parts to make work.

PLUS...you still gotta port the snot outta them to get big power.

They aren't readily available. By definition that makes them not average. That makes them increasingly rare and ever more costly.

Nothing wrong. But they're super heavy and if you're porting them better be ready to pay a ton.

And gotta disagree about that statement. TFs make great power ootb.

Those dragon slayers I referenced will also make great power OOTB.

Have you ever had a set ported? I highly doubt you have. So again no experience.

Trick flows do not make great power, show me an example please.
