I have been driving mine sporadically for the last couple of weeks. With the system controlling timing, I was getting some exhaust backfiring on deceleration. After consulting with Fitech, I went back to using Distributor and vacuum advance, and using the system for fuel delivery only. The decel backfire is gone, so I must have had something wrong with the locked distributor setup.
I think for rest of the season, until it snows, I will leave the ignition duties to the distributor and play more with computer controlled timing in the spring.
I did wind up putting a new alternator on because in idle with the headlights on, my voltage was running close to 11 volts.
It's starting to get cooler up here in the mornings already, but the car starts and idles nicely. I can put it right into gear with no stalling, no feathering of the throttle.
I am currently altering the settings for the accel function as I occasionally was getting a backfire/POP thru the throttle body on mild to heavy gas pedal movement. It is much better now that I enriched it. Fitech says it would be a lean condition causing that issue.
Unfortunately I have not done a lot of driving, the system is still making changes to it's settings( learning) as i drive.
No more stinky gas smell, and very smooth under acceleration and higher speeds.
For a mile street car, it's great being able to change settings without taking a carb apart.
