I saw limey Valiant had posted here some ten years ago...
Always liked that car and was over the moon for him doing 10's with a small-block!

I did it some ten years earlier with a 68 dart and a 452ci all iron motor.
10.66 was my best but my co-owner did a 10.44, same set-up.
3000lb street car with pro-mod slicks, well over the top lol.
13 to 1 compression 906 heads and a N/A domi carb.

The dream was to run a 9.90 with this engine but it was tired and a 69 sixpack-Superbee block.
So didn't want to break it...

That engine had run nines in another dart in the 90's, when fresh built and lighter set-up.

67-383 S now 440 w/indy heads and intake. 727/Dana 60 4.10 Full exhaust and Drag Radial "R" tires. Consistent 10.70's @ 125. "Nice street behavior too!"

My 67 valiant, tubbed and narrowed I'm 1989, first motor ran a 440 with a roller cam, ported iron heads, 12.5 compression and a 4500 stall and ran a usual dial in of 10.53 until 1998. I plopped in a near crate motor 500ci low deck, and promptly ran a 9.82 and was teched off the track. So I sold the motor. I have a 470 kit for a low deck as well, been sitting for 10 years, hoping to put back on the street next year. Can. See car in my avatar

Cool car, How much did it weigh and what gear ratio in the rear

Nice, thank you.

I had to plop a near bone stock 440 in there at the end of the season when the old 440 blew- only had a .509 cam, stock heads etc. still dialed in mid 11s, tells you how much weight and chassis means on a bracket car like this.

Dial in for Hawaii was around 10.90-11.02 IIRC, the heat and humidity compared to Alaska cost me about a half a second.

Here it is in Hawaii. About 95-96 IIRC

Who's the driver?

That's me sitting on the ground. It was a pic for a 7up distributor that sponsored me and gave me buckets of money. I was freshly separated in this pic and my brother is the guy in back, and those two girls were there to give me comfort in my time of pain and need.

And I bet that those young Ladies eased your pain and administered much, very much comfort. BTW that's a good looking Ride .

I’ve been feeling a bit of pain myself and could use a little help.
