I don't think I ever said "always". But right now, I'm being CHEAP as I don't have any RTV, but I have plenty of #2.wait, wait, wait just a gurd durn minute here. you said that you always used red hi temp RTV on them studs! now you're over here switching it up on us?!?
Which is fine, because Permatex № 2 is a few hundred miles closer to being an appropriate material for this application than RTV.I don't think I ever said "always". But right now, I'm being CHEAP as I don't have any RTV, but I have plenty of #2.
Technically, I'm in agreement. However, there are a couple of reasons I personally prefer high temp RTV. First off of course, it seals. Then it withstands heat. Lastly, it also acts as an anti seize. I've always had good luck with it on bolt threads. It works "for me".Which is fine, because Permatex № 2 is a few hundred miles closer to being an appropriate material for this application than RTV.
indeed, you do have plenty of #2... as do i. in fact, some would say that i'm full of it!I don't think I ever said "always". But right now, I'm being CHEAP as I don't have any RTV, but I have plenty of #2.
Wonder what cutting that divider in the intake might do? I'd be curious!Got the adapter plate on the Super Six intake. Now I'm ready for a Holley 4412 two barrel. Probably more appropriately, a chinkesium knockoff Holley 4412. lolView attachment 1716323481
I thought bout it.Wonder what cutting that divider in the intake might do? I'd be curious!
I took Mine out completely, but I wasn't boosting it, may be a functional fuel shear/atomizer...or not...lol.Wonder what cutting that divider in the intake might do? I'd be curious!

.....your slant will scream.Once You go Green............
Don't you mean "green with envy"?.....your slant will scream.
I took the mannyfold to my friend Freddie. He's a whiz with porting and modifying stuff. If I tried to do it, I'd cut the damned thing in half. He's gonna remove the center divider and open the oval up to match the adapter.Wonder what cutting that divider in the intake might do? I'd be curious!

With boost it likely won’t make a bit of difference either way.I took the mannyfold to my friend Freddie. He's a whiz with porting and modifying stuff. If I tried to do it, I'd cut the damned thing in half. He's gonna remove the center divider and open the oval up to match the adapter.
Well it's comin out. lolWith boost it likely won’t make a bit of difference either way.
There have been SO many builds that I've seen that have eclipsed a V8 build and that doesn't make sense to me. I wouldn't "mind" finding some TRW forged stock replacement pistons and there are some on ebay. But that's more expense that I don't have, plus, I believe the factory cast pistons will take 10PSI.....not that I'm gonna do that. I just think they would, especially as long as I didn't try leaning it out gettin all the fire I could.I'm digging the fact it's a low buck turbo build. That's the PERFECT scenario for a slant
Got that snail in the mail yet? If you already have it , tell us about it.Well it's comin out. lol
And I think the slant has an arguably stronger bottom end, even with only four mains. I've never seen a broken slant 6 block or crank, although I'm sure it's been done.I have a bunch of machining experience with turbo AMC inline 4.0 strokers, its mind blowing what they are capable of.
Refresh my memory. I have several small things coming.Got that snail in the mail yet? If you already have it , tell us about it.
Turbo...Refresh my memory. I have several small things coming.
Oh heck no. I won't be able to afford that for a bit. "Maybe" next month. We'll see. I'm just gonna get "everything else" done in the meantime.Turbo...
