Roadkill and other Motortrend shows are cancelled.

FYI, it's not Discovery that is on the hole by itself. It's the parent company Warner Brothers that is in the hole overall.

Not surprising they were that much in debt . How could they possibly pay the nut on so many niche shows ? I would only watch Engine Masters , Road Kill and Finnegan . On occasion I would watch the one with the Mexican interior guys .
No interest in watching semi hot girls with their tits hanging out pretend to fix cars ….

as @DionR said above: it's not MotorTrend that's 41B in debt, it's all of Discovery Warner bros the parent company that is carrying that debt.

without doing a case study here: it's basically a function of big company (AT&T) buying warner bros and then spun them off, they then acquired discovery and their properties. MT was already in debt from when they were purchased from primemedia back when by a PE firm for something like 1.5B and that never fully dissolved as print media went down the toilet and the pivot to online/video was an additional investment-- but that's neither here nor there.

41B in the hole is for warner bros/discovery and all of their various arms as a whole, and importantly to note here this includes property.

WB gambled and lost, now they're restructuring. they'll cut the fat and the lower probably 20% of performing shows, probably sell off a bunch of IP and close up a few divisions while holding onto the rights for future use.

Because it’s true. The junk he builds is exactly that, junk.
I've never seen anything that he's built in person but going by what I've seen on his show I would disagree but I don't know as a fact cause I have never seen his work in true life. Have you? I'm not saying that I agree with everything that he does but I do like the idea that he shows what can be done with a limited budget and what you already have on hand

At once time I had written down how many of these shows are no longer around, if I remember correctly it was something like 15. Fast and Loud, misfit garage, goblin works, west coast customs

I think that the best one is Full Custom Garage, Ian builds things from what ever he has or can find. He shows how to build a car without breaking the bank account.
Check out his YouTube channel, it’s even better than the show

I’ve seen his stuff in person, like to know why you say that.
Lipstick on a pig is the best way to describe it. I’ve seen some of his stuff too and it’s more art than anything else. The way he does things (most of the time) would make a proper fabricator cry. When you see a car built by ringbrothers or kindig or watch a guy like Jesse James shape metal you’ll know what I mean. Or look at something built by Nelson supercars (NRE), if you can leave it in bare metal it’s a true work of art in my opinion.

Maybe it's because dukeboy440 doesn't have the fabrication skills that Ian has.
I’m not the one who said he was a hack, but yeah, I definitely don’t have the fab skills he has. Not by a long shot. But I love how he can make the most obscure item look cool on a car.

There’s also different ways to skin a pig too…

Ian is way more throw back to the original days of car building than those other guys, who all build cool stuff too, but those builds cost hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Ian is more building for the every day guy. I think his stuff is awesome. Hand fabricated all by himself without a huge crew and budget.

I will give him credit for his “cut that **** up” attitude. I like that he just goes after it and gets stuff done. But the over lapping sheetmetal, his weld quality, and using schedule 40 water pipe for rollcages, I mean some stuff has to stop. Someone gave him an English wheel once and showed him how to use it. That lasted about 10 minutes.

I’ve never seen him use water pipe for an actual roll cage.

All of a sudden, the characters from MotorTrend have stopped being quite!! Some more vocal than others, I guess it depends if they wish to burn the bridge!!
Seems a few new episodes of this and that then even those are no more!! Maybe depends on their contracts someone said.
I figure classic car TV shows are like Hollywood actors/actresses....they are in great demand UNTIL the next pretty face comes along!!
