probably right, I think it would be disrespectful to race after that. I know the last thing on my mind would be getting back in a race car
For Tony to be able to race today, He would have needed a good nights sleep, Correct? Regardless of whose fault it was, If my car accidently or otherwise struck someone, I'm not gonna be sleeping at all. Someone lost a family member people, remember that. Just sayin.
I have to wonder about the sanctioning body of NASCAR in allowing Tony Stewart to race today while still under investigation for a "race related incident"; not my words, those are the words of the police chief of the investigating unit. If a police officer kills someone while on duty, aren't they usually taken off the street during the investigation? Don't we expect people that have concealed carry permits to have common sense and not to shoot other people arbitrarily just because they are verbally threatened; don't we usually expect there to be some type of offensive act towards the individual possessing the weapon before they are justified in drawing and discharging their weapon?
Tony Stewart is observed revving his engine, while under caution, causing the rear of his car to break loose and striking the other driver. Would the other driver had been struck if Tony Stewart had not made a choice to rev his engine, causing the rear of his car to break loose; I think not. The other driver walking towards Tony is not an offensive act when he is in a vulnerable position compared to Tony Stewart inside of a well protected race vehicle. It was a poor choice on that driver's part as well, but his action did not cause his death; Tony Stewart performed an unsafe act which caused this incident. IMHO, that was an extremely poor choice and his actions should have serious consequences. Whether Tony Stewart intended for this to happen or not is only relevant in respect to the difference between murder and manslaughter.
Heck being it was on dirt and on the bank of a turn, the kid could've even slipped at the last second and got pulled in.
I'm not a fan of NASCAR, let alone any type of circle track racing.
I just watched the video and in my opinion he tried to avoid hitting him.
Tony was going as slow as the driver in front of him and when the Ward kid ran down in front of him it's obvious that Tony goosed it to keep from hitting him as the rear of the car actually went left, away from Ward. I think the kid just got too close and as the cars rear came back it snagged him.
Terrible tragedy that could've been avoided if the kid stayed in his rig and cooled off a little.
not to sound insensitive, but as many times as ive seen drivers get out and walk or run down into the lane of traffic yelling and throwing tantrums, it was only a matter of time before something like this happened
The kids ran down AT LEAST two lanes of an active racetrack to show how pissed off he was. That's the first thing most get told NOT to do, You NEVER walk on or enter an active race surface. You get the F OFF the surface. He created his own peril.
Black suit, bad lighting, causing the car before stewart to swerve, cars still going 50+...
Bad choices and he paid the ultimate price.
Yes, anything like this could have happened , but I know Tony Stewart
woould not hit this driver on purpose as this thread was started out saying by RRR.
Well I know we have members here that does not like nascar and I am happy
they don't, I don't like mowing the yard but I will not say I hate the man on his mower.

the way I see it is , he definitely did not try to kill him , that's just crazy, but tony saw him pointing his finger and **** , and as he went by he got in the gas showing his nuts, spun his tires, the car kicked out sideways for a split second and caught him with the tire. I don't care for TS either, but you have two heated individuals that got caught up in some dumb ****. one idiot out there running towards the cars, and another idiot giving him a fly by power rev , and they collided. it was a swinging dick contest and unfortunately , someone lost thier life
So sorry I miss read this RustyRatRod. MY BAD INDEED.I didn't say he did anything on purpose. You inferred that. Quite incorrectly, I might add. I worded it like I did because I wanted a spirited discussion. It worked. No need to put words in anyone's mouth. I know you have a hard on for NASCAR and that's cool. I'm glad you like something in this world. I'm bout to the point where I don't like almost anything anymore.
I have watched the video over and over, many times. The track was under caution. Every other driver held a line and speed.
Only Tony Stewart, blipped the throttle.
Kevin Ward Jr, should have stayed in his car but Tony Stewart's "showboating" is the reason Mr. Ward is dead.
That's my opinion.
X2, Stewart gets a "get outa jail" free card for this one. Im saying he wont face any charges for this, but the bad publicity will be a *****.I have watched the video over and over, many times. The track was under caution. Every other driver held a line and speed.

If you walk through a pit of rattle snakes and get bit and die. Is it the rattle snake's fault for biting you, or your fault for going in the pit in the first place???
