Stop in for a cup of coffee

I said "in awhile" not of all time.

I kinda don't like the sound effect on the mustang

Yeah, but the Charger is cool... That 440 R/T could easily outrun that 390 Mustang.... The guys in the Charger said that they had to keep letting off so they didn't loose the Mustang....

I need to stop eating late, I am starting to get acid reflux when i eat and then sleep right after.
It's all downhill from here

I found that eating some salad (lettuce) or have a glass of milk (sometimes chocolate) help calm my acid reflux....

Yeah, but there's nothing like eating till your full and then falling asleep in a food coma....

Funny you say that because when I have milk, it's almost guaranteed to happen

Milk is a base, not an acid, so it should help neutralize acid reflux...

However stomach acid is a buffer solution which can tolerate more of a base to change the ph level than normal acids....

I need to go through your small block threads with a fine tooth comb as I progress through this build

I am lovingly calling it "project greaseball"

What a grease ball

Have you tried soaking it in 'easy off' oven cleaner before power washing... I hear that stuff really cuts through the grease....

But wear a rain coat and goggles as that stuff can burn if it gets on your skin....

I am learning the value of PPE, I used to use a lot of chemicals just like that. Aircraft stripper burns like a flame.

I know oven cleaner really irritates the throat and feels like you're choking

Feel free to go through them... If there's something you need to know and I haven't gotten to that part yet, give me a shout and I can walk you through it...

I just isolated a bunch of pictures for my next chapter on installing pistons, but have some duplicates of some and need to pick the best ones and weed the others out...

I can tell that this is going to be another long one... :BangHead: :BangHead: :BangHead:

I may wait until tomorrow and start it....

Some of them have taken 6 - 10 hours just to write, not to mention taking the pictures as I build and then sorting them out before writing the article... I put alot of time into them, I hope that it helps others so to make the time worth it.... It helps me feel better when they give me positive feedback after spending all of the time to make them... :D

I really want to get the car running before Halloween. That is my goal but who knows if I will get it because I am only getting a couple hours a week to work on cars

I like the goggles for PPE as some of the stuff can get under or around the standard safety glasses....

I once got a metal chip in my eye while porting some heads when I was 19 and it took the doctor a while to find it... I had to point it out to him... I found it after he left the room and had to try to hold my eyeball still until he came back and show him...

Then he put some drops in my eye to dampen my reflex to blink while he dug it out with a needle... It gave me such a bad headache that I went home and slept the rest of the day and I saw him in the early afternoon... Now I try to be more careful and wear eye protection so that doesn't happen again...

First thing to go are the exhaust manifolds.

What the heck was Chrysler thinking by casting a huge kink into the driver side. Yea real nice, doesn't even look right

I have most of the pictures to complete the engine build series with the different engines that I've worked on in the past few months...

We got the pistons in the youngest boy's 360, but now he's down in NC living with his mom and going to college and won't be able to come back and do any more work until he gets a long holiday break from school... So I will have to go back and make the cam degree article then, however I have the rest of the pictures taken from when I changed the cam in the 340 that belongs in the Challenger convert that I sold my brother that I can use for the top end assembling chapters...

The 340 for the challenger had a pretty big cam from back in the early 80's.... I'm not sure what size it is yet, but wanted to save it as it's an old Direct Connection cam that I would like to use sometime... My brother wants something mild in it so he can cruise the convertible around town... So I swapped it out so I can use it later... If I didn't grab it now, I would not have another chance to get it and he's not good at following through...

Pretty kinky... LOL!!!

They most likely had to put that kink in there to clear the steering and master cylinder... :BangHead:

That's not as bad as the early A-body with the 273 driver's side manifold... I may have to run one of those on my 66 Valiant wagon when I put the 318 in it... The wagon was originally a 170 three on the tree...

Will these manifolds fit an early A??
They are 74 dated, out of a 75 car

Once you get the short block assembled, the rest of the build goes pretty quick if you don't degree the cam and just install it straight up... But me being the perfectionist that I am, I like to degree the cam so I know where it is...

I don't think so as the early A manifolds have more of a rearward twist than those... The only way to tell for sure is to test fit them in one with a v-8 in it...

I would have to clear a z bar

I have had temptations to go v8 with my valiant wagon but I already have the mega rare slant six 4 speed bellhousing and I have a lot of money into the slant already.

A v8 seems exhausting but If these manifolds would fit then it would rekindle the temptation because it would be one less thing to have to buy

I have a few different styles of manifolds that I can try when I get around to dropping the 318 into the wagon...

But I have to find where I put the brake lines first and get them installed before I put the engine in... I'm converting it to dual reservoir... I have brand new 10" drums all the way around, but have a spare set of KH discs that I would like to put in... I'm still not sure if I want to change the brakes now or use the drums for a while and do the disc swap later since I already have the drums on and assembled...

I'm going to go with automatic on my wagon, but haven't given much thought about if I will go with column shift or put a console in it... Column shift will probably be easier...

I swapped a 383 into a 67 notch years ago and it still had the original slant six drums. It stopped fine. I personally think some people make too much of a big *** deal about it. The most dangerous part of any car is the idiot behind the wheel.

If you need more than one panic stop per trip, then you look in the mirror and there's your problem.

If a deer steps out in front of you, well, you are going to have deer jerky whether you drive a bus or a Ferrari or anything in between
