Stop in for a cup of coffee

The worst part however is on the bottom of the trunk opening. The metal lip is not like on the upper part.

I have to write down the types of glues you guys have mentioned and see if I can find any of it here, or if Brown or Newsom have gotten rid of everything that smells.

This is the correct adhesive. No need to spray clear coat first, just clean free from dirt first. This stuff will stick.

It's Fiat Friday!
Good morning/afternoon. :D
Had an early appointment with Marlena the Tormentor and PT.
There's a cruise in town tonight, for cancer survivors :D.
Tomorrow is the Cruisin' For Lfe car show, a fundraiser for cancer research and treatments.
Should be a fun couple of hours. :D
Nice pic, but I think it's still Thursday.

Best darn Loctite in off road racing in the late 70s. Used the yellow for the added visibility.
Never shook apart. Not real forgiving to threads though . We always expected to be changing bolts after use

man, Houston and that area getting pounded with rain totals. 2 feet in some places. @Ben Drinkin I forget where you're at in TX, you anywhere close to that

Look in the shop manual. They have a pretty extensive set of drawings for placement of weatherstrips - usually the magnifications show the profiles.
Aftermarket is full of so-so to plain wrongo 'restoration' parts that are nothing like the originals. Softseal and Steele are usually about the right profile but I wouldn't bet the house on anybody's. Compare with originals or pictures of originals and factory info whenever possible. My guess is what you have is about right for your car, but I don't know that.

Glues. I used the 3M yellow first. Then the second or third attempt was the 3M black weatherstrip cement. But that's now coming off too as you saw in the photo. Got a fair number of years out of it this time.
