Stop in for a cup of coffee

Ok, so getting serious about this swap idea.....

66 fury >>> 70 dodge D100 pickup.
318 poly.

So, will the fury oil pan work in the truck or did trucks have their own pan?? Depends, Ive seen some people get by with the car pan on some years of trucks and in others , nope.

Will the fury exhaust manifolds work in the truck?? Should, they are a rear dump manifold, at least mine are
Will a NP435 small block bellhousing work on the poly?? Yes. The LA and poly have the same bolt pattern. You should be able to use the small block flywheel IF it was for a 318 LA. Polys are internally balanced

Do you think this will be a hard swap?? Nope. Mount brackets should bolt right on, truck bay should be plenty wide enough to help it go in to. Should be fairly straight forward.

I am really liking the idea of that heavy poly in the truck.

The only different between a poly and an LA is only with anything to do with the heads and valve train system. Everything block related is the same as an LA with the exception being the pistons mainly due to valve locations.

Good evening good folks.

I have something I wonder about, it's about light bulbs. Again, but this time it is different. I have discovered something,a I assume this is common knowledge to all Americans, but not to a Norwegian.
The 7 inch round headlamp for example, it seems to have several numbers. Like 60** whatever. What is the difference here ? Did they change the bulb number just for the sake of it, or ?
I wish someone could shed some light over this.

Bill
Mattax seems to be knowledgeable in that area, he might be able to shed some light(pun intended).

But if I had to guess, it’s probably stuff down at the technical level, like wattage, amperage draw etc. I could possible even see beam pattern or glass/lens thickness. It’s rare for a company to have the exact same item with more than 1 part id number without some sort of reasoning, whether it’s a factory ID thing or a tech spec thing. For example, when I worked for Cummins, they had over 100,000 turbocharger kit part numbers for the HX35 series turbo used 5.9 6B. Mostly due to turbo compressor housing orientation. Which was funny because all you have to do to change the orientation is remove a snap ring, rotate to the desired location, then put snap ring back in.

Up and at it this morning

How is everything in Texas Stephen
Going to be a sunny and warm day here in Northeast Arkansas

Sometimes I get to dream way too much about my cars and then when I get home not enough time.
I remember during my deployments it helped to have something to look forward to, and talk to others about while away.
I'm sure you have your time off almost scheduled out.

I have 3 lists.
1. Mine
2. Hers
3. What will actually get done.

Case in point, Saturday we agreed I’d do Her list to help clean up for the holidays and “declutter” . 16 hours of deep cleaning, charity donation runs etc. wake up Sunday, tell her I’m gonna drive over and work on the cars some, oh no, gotta clean up and do yard and gutter work then you can go. Yeah, 9 hours later. Doing **** like moving a rick of wood from one spot to another spot 10 feet away because she liked the look of it over there better. :BangHead: **** was stupid, pissed me off but what can you do.

Good morning Mopar nuts. Was up extra early, walking to the kitchen I realized, hey I feel pretty good! My best friend since I was born fell down stairs and broke both ankles, reminder that life is not fair. Got a fun day planned, get a second coat of wax on the Fury, and make a pot of clam chowder (from FL we like the red kind.) But first gotta enjoy some coffee.

FYI - Made some Antigua for @Mattax today. I think he liked it, but still wants to try it in a lighter roast...
It was very good.
Helped by the fact it was fresh ground and maybe how you made it. Was that pressed?

I'll have him some lite roast on its way before the weeks out.
Looking forward to trying it.

I have to run to the burg today and pick up another cabinet I won. Think that should be enough for the shop RIGHT NOW!

I bet the neighborhood smells good when you are roasting the beans. I remember from Costa Rica trips. I’d always bring backk a suitcase full, something about it put you in a good mood. They tend not to “over-roast” their coffee.
