That has to suck, for both. I imagine customer service reps are getting wore out. They’re often only a team of low wage workers stuffed in a tiny room
Would be a tough job right now. Not to mention how pissed off the customers are for waiting on hold for- days?
I keep reminding the wife how the people taking these calls must feel. Call center or whatever.

Hey guys, stupid question about carbs. I was watching the UTG video's and he was holding a Eddy carb and breifly touched on the transition slot. I know that setting the butterflies correctly to show a portion of the transition slot on Holleys is true, but he also showed the slot on the Eddy. Do you set the butterflies the same on the Eddy carbs?
Concept is basically the same, but I wouldn't count on the 'rule of thumb' to be the same.
a. The 20-40 thous was based on the older Holleys. Stuff these days, especially non-Holley shiny and colored ones, have different size t-slots so they can act too rich or too lean depending on the ratio of exposed to manifold vac to exposed to atmospheric pressure.

b. Carterbroks use a slightly different idle circuit than the typical 4150/60. A couple features of the Carter design are two restrictors in the idle circuit and and a second idle air 'bleed'. IIRC its called an 'economizer' in their literature.

Thanks, but most of those refer to Holley carbs... If it is true for both then I need to figure out why it wont idle set like that, but thanks for the link. I'll start paging through them just in case I missed something.

I have the AVS2 and I read it numerous times, I didnt see anything about it.. Guess I'll go dig the manual back out and check again.. I havent found a video that mentions anything about setting the transfer slot
Doubt you'll find anything about setting the transfer slots for the Carters, or the Rochesters for that matter.

I'd start with the Carter and then the Chrysler info. since its Carter oriented.

On the carb, I'd look for some of the issues that people have seen in the Weber and Edelbrock versions. There's at least one thread here where I and/or hysteric shared some photos and links about issues with the clusters in general and the boosters in the '750' models.

Sears was always real thin newsprint paper.
At least that's what I recall.
Could look up all sorts of things - what I remember using it most for was the alpha-numeric to metric tire table. LOL
We kept it in the same cabinet with the phone book.
Speaking of which - i have a several of those here. Definately will be handy in an emergency!
 
Speedometer was returned today, along with a brand new cable. They transfered the firewall grommet over to the new cable.
Now I have to decide whether to touch up the needle.
All of the needles except one have lost some color on the top.

There's two companies advertizing they have real flourescent paint for gage needles.
One is acrylic - so that's out.
The other is some sort of enamal.
And then there is Testors model paints, but I don't know if their flourescent paints really flouresce, or if that's just a name.

In theory, a flourescent paint should absorb the light close to UV (from the blue green instrument lamps) and give off a more easily seen color - such as red-orange.
Trying to think of a way to test the paint before using it .

Paint a toothpick and try it it different light.

Plastic paint is your friend. If they are just bright in tone and too much color, a few light coats of VHT taillight tint paint will knock them down nicely.

If you need them darker, send them to Craig in Hawaii before he comes back... He can put them in the son so they get darker....

Testors are bottles are really small. Be a worth trying that.
I’ll see if I can find a link, but there was a company selling paint for gun sights that was truly fluorescent. Even had some colors in glow in the dark.

I have another set in black. I was thinking those may be a better base to paint brown. Then down the tube will look dark even if the paint isn't perfect.

The interior of my car is 'tan'. But '67 'tan' interior wasn't reallly tan at all. It consisted of a light gold panels and seat. A slightly more copper interor gloss paint on the doors etc; dark brown seatbelts, steering wheel and dash pad, and a brown suede on the dash.
