Stop in for a cup of coffee

I went to the doctor yesterday for a check-in regarding my weight loss progress. Based on my current weight and an analysis she determined I have nothing less to lose. Based on my body build I am well within the margins for BMI Body Mass Index, body fat 14%, and segmental lean muscle analysis which evaluates your body's muscle distribution is all over 100%...i.e. the body of the 20 year old haha!!

My biggest goal is to get off the diabetic meds. My first step was my last A1C blood work fall within the normal range for the first time in eight years. It might take a couple years to slowly lower my dose but hopefully I can maintain my weight loss and eliminate the diabetic meds altogether.

I appreciate you all letting me share my progress and hope it doesn't bore you too bad.
Not at all, rather it motivated me. Great goal to get off of meds, I'm trying to do the same. My BP numbers have been dropping along with my weight.

SpaceX is now set for 06:10PDT Saturday morning. Elon changes his launches frequently.
Same with the space shuttle launches the NY unit used to go down in case. Never launced on time. I went at least 6 times. Great winter trip usually a few weeks on the average instead of three days!

So it is early, but you say in the 20's....and that is you. So you are 100+ years old and still playing with cars??!! that is amazing!! I hope to be like that.

Good Morning All. Couple meetings to start the day, then more documenting and tedious stuff all day.

My BP has never been a problem just the A1C the past few years. It wasn't sugar or pop as we don't use it or drink it. I don't drink beer either preferring the low cal whiskey. Even if I mix a drink, it's vodka and G-Zero...thinking healthy right?

No, my problem was way too many carb foods and portion control. It was easy to tackle with the right attitude (finally) it just took months to take it off. You have to remember it didn't go on overnight, and it isn't going to come off overnight.

I've already donated or given away all my old XXL shirts and jackets so there's no going back. I know I've said it before, but my loss motivated the wife and she's lost 45 pounds and down to her wedding day weight. It's been a win win for us and will help as we age.

That's great. I'm sure you both feel better too.

I have been interested in what you shared here about health and weight. I have always been very healthy, but always a little worried, cause I will eat or drink anything I like. And have done so for many years. Peaked my interest when you brought up the A1C thing. Also have been worried about my liver numbers since I do like to drink a lot of Beer. Just had my annual Dr visit 2 weeks ago. And they usually have to press me to come in once a year. Anyhow, I was pleased to see that all of my bloodwork came back normal. A1C was only 5.2, cholesterol numbers were low, and liver checks ok. i really dont know why I am not less healthy. But listening to people talk about us getting older and sicklier makes me want to stay up more on my health. I know the Hammer will drop on me one day !!!

I can't seem to keep off what I lost at times, but I am happy to not be a 220 5'8" 65 year old anymore.
Got down to 188 last spring near May, doctors say its partly the meds I do daily but I think they are just trying to keep me happy or something.. back to 199. 200 a couple times this summer.. happy for you @ZMan67S

Thats awesome! It hasnt been an issue for me, but i inadvertently lost 20 lbs by quitting soft drinks. It was a big change for me,but worth it health wise.
