There's a few around, but hard to find...

So yes, it would be unusual to find one at a cruise...

4 speed, maybe they all came stock not sure, nice car red lines tires painted body color wheels

66 was the first year that the Hemi was offered in a street car, and the Coronet was one of the models... I think they were offered on both auto and 4-speed...

I remember that...

We used to build models as kids... One of our favorites was the 66 Charger because it had a Hemi in it... We had about 3-4 of those....

I didn't mention the Charger before because we were talkin' Coronets....

Was your Charger an Auto or 4-speed???

727 auto.

Almost, Navy.
I did 4 active with the Army in the early 80s. Best and worst times of my life. LOL. I miss the connections you make with the people you served with. I lament the changes they were making at the time to be "The New Army".

If you have 14 you are almost there. You can do 6 more. Just have to role with all the FUBAR and SNAFU stuff.
im at the end of 12 years now, i'll have 14 at the end of this contract.

Problem is how my points are falling cause of my enlistment dates. i missed out on the required number of points for a year because of that. so while I physically have served 12 years, only 11 are counting because of that fall re-enlistment. so I'd actually have to do another 7. But they do have this thing where i can sign 1 year extensions at a time. So i may go that route. Depends, right now the Army is suffering a major re-enlistment shortage and that trickles down to the Reserves/Guard as well. So retention is their main priority right now and for the next couple years. If they come to the table and are willing to stuff my contract how i want(within reason), then I may play ball, otherwise, adios.

1966 Charger was a very High line car. Lots of cool detail. VERY tough to restore. I just threw cash at it till done, I knew I would be OK because it was a real Hemi car. Well when I sold it, I LOST money. I ONLY got 100K for it! :BangHead:

See that's my issue. The new changes are just making it tough to stay around. I mean, this whole transgender BS is one part of that. I dont care for how they are dealing with it, let them serve for all I care but the fact all they have to do is go to the CO and say "hey I feel more like a man(or woman), and get access to the opposite sex's facilities AND get to do the physical standards of their preferred gender for APFT they are held too is just too much.

I had an off site meeting at a supplier one time and after the meeting when the guy found out that I was a car guy, took me in the back and showed me his 66 Hemi Charger....

He had bought it new and drove it to about 70 k miles... Then realized what a rare gem it was and restored it, now he keeps it in his shop under a cover so it doesn't get messed up...

That was a very nice car...

I've heard boot camp is totally neutered. Some of the things I hear about my step daughters half brothers are going thru is unbelievable.
When I was in, there was what seemed to be an active program to put down all the hard charging Nam vets like dogs you no longer wanted. I lost friends (and not in a good way).

For some of us marriage is a lifetime sentence with no parole
Who knew saying I do , is a crime.

IMO the least desirable of any Hemi car. I loved mine as well, but they don't get attention by collectors.
