Mike: What am I to do with this rope.
Wolfie: Don't you worry about it...Just don't let go of that rope.
Hoppy: Are you sure this will work?
Tike: I have no idea ....how much higher can this go?
Mitch: (not seen...taking pictures) What a bunch of dumb asses and here I am getting it all on film. No one will believe me when I tell them.

That actually scared the hell out of me when it went up, wobble wobble then steady! Sure you felt safe also!

I never thought an engine crane would flip back over and be worthless at a given point

The whole time all I was thinking was I hope the crane hits me in the face before Tikes ***!

My 64 sport fury floor shifted car was cables as well. Not the same transmission? Was told they were, rebuilt by me, worked great with a shift kit...
Yes. Cable, floors shifted 727s from 64/65 that were floor shift are the same as pushbuttons and can be interchanged. The cables themselves are much shorter in length but thats about it. 65 they did have some transmissions with slip yokes and those have a different tailshaft and output shaft. But the internals are the same as the 63/64 pushbuttons

Chris, when I was rebuilding my 64's transmission, I remember the manual stating the differences between the floor shift and the push button shift and not too much difference.
Same trans for both. As I recall, in 1982!!!

I think by that time I was on Iced tea and it was sitting on the Belvedere...glad we didn't dent it!

Yep, as long as they were the cable shifted floor shifters, they are the same. It's the 66&up that went to linkage that are different. Other than the ball/trunion change

I may try to source a regular 727 and tear it down for comparison shots
