Yeah... I really need to get that gasket ordered also. Thanks for reminding me!! :)

If you need a new exhaust manifold, there is a place near Detroit that sells new ones for $200...

Silverseal

I can't find it on their web site, but if you call, they can ship you one...

Silver Seal Products, Inc.

Yellow represents manifold vacuum.
The thermostatic switch is in the air cleaner. Somewhere around 95 F, it closes.
As long as there is manifold vacuum in the line to the snorkel, the flapper is up, letting in warm air from around the exahaust manifold.
There's mistake in the caption not in the main text. Very funny.

There is some truth to that statement.
At around 65f is where it usually gives the most trouble, when its humid. Dew on windows, warm enough that choke comes off a littke early and then carb ice starts. In the real cold its not a problem, and no issues over 75 degrees either.

I don't yet....

They are known to get cracks in the exhaust manifolds... I once bought three used ones and they all had that crack.... (We're talking exhaust manifolds here, not crack whores....)

My head guy told me about silverseal and I called them and ordered a new one... They said that they were out of stock and would have the manufacturer ship it to me when they become available... I had it at my front door in three days for $200 including shipping.... :D

Too bad other companies don't have that good of service...
