By a half ton. The old system was 14 years old and could have been a half ton too big then.By how much did they oversize it?
I should have done a Manual J on that house. The house was built in the early 50's and probably didn't have a/c until the furnace needed replacing. At that time if the contractor just took a guess or went by square feet to size the unit it could be too big by today's standards. The house has been updated with siding, insulation and energy efficient windows. The Manual J study takes all that into consideration.By how much did they oversize it?
Holy cow! A truck Dana in a 65 Dart.
Non A/c question. I like it. I need to pay closer attention. A lot of paint these days have pearl in them. I wonder if that is what is adding to the look?I got a non-AC question...
Been seeing 'different' looking paints in the past year or two. Greys and tans mostly. Dodge, Jeep and Toyotas mostly. I think Dodge calls theirs 'destroyer grey'.
Paints look really different, no metallic, look almost 'creamy' for lack of a better description.
Question is, some special paint? Is it some different clear coat? What makes them look so different?
I especially like the grey on the Toyota Tundra. Interested in putting something similar on my Scout. Any info on what's so special with these paints?
They look different because they are base coat/clear coat, not single stage like it was back in the day. The clear coat gives that deep luster even without any metallic. Plus the clear on the Mopar is a crystal pearl clear.I got a non-AC question...

Maybe, never can tell. Think outside the US.I swear I've seen one of those Humvees like that somewhere before. Is that based on a real vehicle?
Hey, did you see what I learned about one of those hemis today?Maybe, never can tell. Think outside the US.
Yep...and a lot of it was wrong. You need to read better websites.Hey, did you see what I learned about one of those hemis today?
Which part? What I regurgitated mostly came from Hotrod Magazines hemi comparisonYep...and a lot of it was wrong. You need to read better websites.
Go to LxForums and ask your questions. You will get a lot better information. I really don’t care what HR mag or an outdated summary on Allpar had to say.And was backed up in other places across the web, including Allpar.
You need to add some sharp cheese to that mix!MMMMMMM Jalapeno stuffed green olives, marinated in a clear grain alcohol .. Finess kine
Well the picture of the heads side by side came from the LX forums actually. As did the flow numbers.Go to LxForums and ask your questions. You will get a lot better information. I really don’t care what HR mag or an outdated summary on Allpar had to say.
First example is that the 5.7L Eagle did not have 11:1 compression. It was 10.5:1, just like the 6.1L. Also, a lot of what you were citing came from sources that were confusing the truck Fa engines that had variable intake runners with the 5.7L car engines that didn’t.
It’s more complicated than just reading something on the internet and thinking you got an education of fact...because you didn’t.
My best advice it to search everything you can find on the LX Forum...triple crosscheck everything before drawing even minor conclusions.Well the picture of the heads side by side came from the LX forums actually. As did the flow numbers.
Either way, if you have some good links and information please let me know. I'm just trying to learn and by no means have I fully figured out this engine
I gotcha ya. Thanks. My best advice it to search everything you can find on the LX Forum...triple crosscheck everything before drawing even minor conclusions.
I have been living modern Hemi engines and drivetrains for the past 10+ years and own 2 of them. It takes a long time to become knowledgeable.
And no, there aren’t any quick summaries out there you can read and become expert...you have to earn the knowledge by the sheer persistence of obtaining it.
Sounds like funYa just never know about the weather on the Ca coast. Predicted high today 88*, real time high 71*. Yesterday it was 87*. Or the NWS thermometer at the airport went belly up Deer season starts this weekend, in normal years that would mean we should get a rain shower in 4 or 5 weeks.
you disassemble one of those yet?Well the picture of the heads side by side came from the LX forums actually. As did the flow numbers.
