Stop in for a cup of coffee

One of the best I ever saw was when we were painting the ship, usually used rollers, but this new chief wanted us just to spray, OK he gets this sprayer that goes on top of a 55 gallon barrel of paint, ok cool. We were in Marseille France at the main naval base well he hooks up the air. Boom the freaking barrel exploded paint all over the place, cars, their ships etc. Well a ship has low pressure air 100 psi and high 2500 psi. Guess which one he hooked up to? Freaking funny as hell.

Make sure there are no leaking tanks in the past and what are the back taxes also. There was a guy in NY bought a station and opened it as a rent a lift. Made a freaking killing. Think you had to sign a waiver to use it. Sold the parts and also rented tools. Pretty cool actually like on a base.
I had seriously thought about it too. Includes rent-a-tech.
Theres a nice building not far from me. Cheap. But my concern is it would be like a community garage.
All the boys would be there, could see how it would turn into a party real fast.
Too many variables in a small town.

your buddies would want in free, and everyone would want to be your buddy. lol

 Dang! Got down to 48 last night. Another 6 weeks we may get a frost  The grape farmers just love them frosts :rofl:Pretty near froze 70 miles up the beach.

Its almost like that now.
I may look into it in spring, start with a lease. And with any luck i will have enough busines to cover the added cost like heat for such a large space.
I at least have to poke around a bit.

Done. Less than 10 minutes in there. Could have actually been half that, but...
We have 6 machines. They break us into 4 lines by alphabet. I am in A-F. I was about 6 in line. Several more coming in right behind me, almost all in same line. Total 11 in my line. 1 in next. Nobody in 3rd and one in last.:wtf: Then the guy in front of me signs his name in wrong spot and the official had to go ask somebody what to do with it. LOL
I haven't gone by to see how they're doing yet. In a few minutes.
Having people with experience and can use their brains is a plus.
Next division over from me may be a mess today. Some partisan kid thought he needed to be 'judge' and the very fair guy with experience was 'accidentally' not on the primary ballot (petition didn't get handed in). No one wants to work with the enthusiast know it all. So he gets to learn the hard way. Stupid. The party positions at the table are not about issues, its about checks and balances. idiot.

I'll be honest. I think that cam is way too much for that.
I'd approach it this way.
See what the heads flow. No point in any more lift of the valves than will gain air.

To me, old school street/strip would be a flat tappet, probably mechanical, and iron heads. Prob something like the old purple shaft series or Racer Brown. For something newer designs, maybe Lunati or Mike Jones.
You planning to gear this so its in the 3000 - 7000 rpm range most of the time? even on the street?

The heads i sort of plan to use is a old set of J heads that have lived with that size cam before so no worries there i would be much more worried about if i can actulay bring them back to life from their current state of abuse for a reasonable amount of money.:/

Nope im not ever going to go flattappet again if i can avoid it and i do have two sets of lifters, one brand new and one used set so a solid roller is pretty much set in stone ;)

The whole idea is pretty much to do what alot of people claim is stupid just to show that it can be made to work sort of its the old way of adding cam and compression to an engine with not so great heads and small displacement.

Oh yes there will be plenty of gear and converter given time.
Plan is to start out with my old converter that should stall about 32-3500rpm and 3.91:1 gears but i figure another 1000rpm converter will be much better and alite more gear later on.
Running 3000+ rpm on the highway when going longer distances is ok,driving around town is so much stop and go anyway so cruiserpm is not all that important at lower speeds anyway i have driven with big cams before and its ok crusing under the rated rpm range at lower speeds but it would be terrible at 70rpm.
I cant help it but i miss that high rpm big cam engine to much to ignore it.

I do appreciate you consern,it is very valid!

Put the new silverstars in my pickup today, and new headlamp adjusters. Garbage. Broke one, the other one wouldnt stay in the rad support. Must have put it back in 6 times trying to get the bucket lined up.
Finally got it done. Now i wait until dark to aim them.
Next will be splicing in the lights for the plow.

Parts supplier caught the silverstars after billing, is rebilling when sale flyer comes up. $22 back in my pocket.
I like the flyer program, better prices, and i can stock up.
