I've never even heard of a rag clutch until you talked about them.. I have no idea do you have a link?..

LOL. An organic disc. The one you posted evidently has organic lining on one side. The other side, I think it said ceramic, I'm not sure about that being slipped.

So I just don't know about that disc. Grant will see this and it will be interesting to see what he says. I know ceramic in a Semi is very touchy set up.

Who knows, that disc may be the schizznizzle for the CT. I just don't know.

I'll see if I can find what is considered a race quality rag disc and see if I can post the link.

Should I signal you with the secret word at the Swap Meet?...

Ok a quick search and I found some part numbers. Can't link them because I too stoopid o do it with this iPad.

So McLeod has a 10.5 disc that has a sprung hub and organic lining. Part number is 260320.

They also have a 10.5 disc that has an unsprung hub and organic lining. Part number 260720.

I also noticed they are making (again which is very cool) a Borg&Beck/Long cover that takes a 10.95 disc on a stock flywheel bolt pattern

The cool thing about this cover is it fits on a stock Chrysler flywheel AND it uses Long fingers which has a quicker release and makes shifting much easier.

It is a 12 spring cover and it comes at 2400 pounds of pressure. You can run the cover with as few as 6 springs, but with a rag disc, you can probably just pull 3 springs, dropping 100-125 pounds of plate pressure and make the chassis even happier, even with the CT.

The part number is 360951 for the plate with counterweight and 360952 without counterweight. The non counterweight one is the best option.

The good thing is if you ever wanted to make the move to a sintered iron disc, you can send that plate to Cale Aronson and he has some pretty trick levers for it and he can make it adjustable.

Very cool.

The problem is that you have a stick shift car or i should say you have a clutch! I'm not bashing a stick, or your driveing skills! Lets get that out of the way first!

The plain and simple Fact, it that a standard drag slick can scratch out of the hole, and if set up right will bite and Gooo.

A drag radial can hoook just as well as a standard no radial drag slick (Got to be true! I heard it on the internet!!!!)BUT, It Must Dead Hook. And that's the Last thing you want out of Stick Shift car. You want the clutch to slip a little, you want the tire to slip a little........Then nothing brakes and it don't bog.

On the street, Much Less traction, and much harder, to dead hook.

O HE LL! WHAT AM I DOING....trick-flow-small-block- heads............We now return you to your regularly scheduled program...................... ......................
Did you miss this thread?...

Sure You Can Push the the Big D button and not explain yourself. But i can't:poke:

Also it's just a little teeny button and a little teeny tiny x, but boy it has big results! LOL you should see the way Pittsburgh cries when his Guru-Ness is challenged LOL obviously someone that's not used to being disagreed with LOL....

If you don't get the red X once in a while you are not doing your job.

That is stolen from my dad who always told me that in basketball, " If you don't foul out once in a while your are not doing your job"

I haven't been getting much feedback lately what with most all the tracks being closed and all, but last weekend a group of guys got together and rented the track in Houston. One of them had just installed a Hitmaster system in his 2012 Corvette, prior to this outing his bests were 11 teens. He was pretty excited when he called, telling me his car now runs 10.50's.

Later I got a call from another guy that was also there, telling me about the other guy's solid 11.20 car out of nowhere running consistent 10.50's after installing a Hitmaster. He wanted jump on the bandwagon, ordered a system for himself.

In my opinion the Hitmaster is far better and easier to dial in than my ClutchTamer, but a car equipped with the 'tamer did win it's class at last year's US Nationals. He was using NexGen clutch with plenty of base and no weights, using the 'tamer to control the hit. Kinda cool to get a call from the tech line at Indy, then later find out the car won :)

I tried calling last Wednesday or Thursday from a customer's garage. I'll try calling again tomorrow morning and get his clutch Tamer ordered and I think we may have talked but he may need a special bracket as well..
