And stroker small blocks in black Dusters.

That's what I did with my build. Troy, @CFD244 mentioned that trick. I used Nicop brake line for the tube. The tip of dipstick needed a slight bend as it was difficult to get in n out.(that's what she said)
I seem to recall a deal where you tap the hole and use a fitting and tube. Maybe a flare nut or something? Seems like there could be some improvement with a little creativity.

I agree 100%! I've always thought the press fit dipstick tube was horse feathers. The thing to do, IMO would be to tap to the closest NPT thread and use an NPT fitting with female inverted flare on the outside. That way, you can use brake/fuel line for the dipstick and it's easily removable.

For future reference, here is the part number history for the chrome slant six valve covers from old Direct Connection and Mopar Performance catalogs.
P3690742 fits 1960 - 1980. First appeared in the 1975 catalog and continued thru 1994.
P4120930 fits 1981 - 1987. First appeared in the 1982 catalog and continued thru 1989.
In 1990 Chrysler superseded P4120930 to P4529063 which last appeared in the 1997 catalog.

Wow! We're Still talking about This???
I wish I could start a thread that would get this many hits!
Howabout...
Which Cam should I use on my Hemi-Slant-273?

That's useful information.
You should start a new thread with this as the #1 post.

Just flipped to 10,000 views, and that is still within the first week of the original post.

Thanks guys, like I said, Troy, @CFD244 gave me the idea/trick. It's a pain in the *** to get the tube "right" as the dipstick didn't want to go all the way in, then working it around fool pump and alt. Not sure if I would.so it again lol, but once block is threaded yer committed lol.
Nice work, Steve!

Damn, Steve. That is way cool looking.
