    Early 273 intake compatibility

I've got a chance to pick up an Offenhauser 360 dual quad intake that was made for an early 273 small block. The seller states that it was modified to fit later 318-360 engines. What exactly should I look for? How will the modifications be evident? OR is it even possible?

Any Denver area locals remember this dealership from the early 2000s?

Look at the front plate:CAR LOTTA? My Duster was purchased from there in 2002 timeframe. I've been trying to track down any information about it from that time period. It's a longshot I know. But I'll never find out if I don't ask.

    Yoke dimensions 7290?

These are the diameters of the U-Joint caps on my driveshaft. They seem to line up with the 7290 not the 1350. Am I looking at them correctly? The last photo is what I’m planning on ordering.

Any advantage to using U-Joint girdles vs straps?

During my 3rd member & axle swap I have become aware of these U-Joint girdles. I'm sure they are stronger than the straps but other than the bling factor would I benefit from switching over to them on a mostly street driven car? In the past on a 74 Power Wagon 1Ton Dana 60 equipped 4X4 with a...

    B&M Shifter pedestal size

I recently picked up a new B&M modern style shifter and wondering what size pedestal I should use in my 70 Duster? This first picture is for reference. And the second picture is the shifter currently in the car. Who has some pictures of their set-up and what size pedestal you used.

Who else USED TO wrench outside?

Back in the 90s in Fairbanks AK I built a 74 WarWagon (Warlock/Powerwagon) mud truck/daily driver. I lived in base housing on Eielson AFB and my truck wouldn't come close to fitting in the garage. So it was work on it outside or let it sit. This first picture was taken during an engine swap...

Who else's car started out as a LOW option car?

I've rarely seen a fender tag with such few options as mine. Manual 4 drum brakes, manual steering, bench seat, column shift, no chrome moldings, base model. I'm sure there are others around, but most cars like mine were usually NOT considered desirable, driven hard and ended up in the scrap...

Took a shot and got some Metal Wall Art

I've been seeing these automotive metal wall art adds popping up and decided to give it a try. They have many vehicles to choose from but no Duster, so I opted to have a custom one built. After sending some pictures of my Duster to them for review, I received their initial rendering in about 10...

1970 Duster in the Denver area late 90s Early 2000s

My current Alaska 70 Duster was purchased in Denver area at CAR LOTTA used car dealer by a guy in 2002 and subsequently driven up the Alcan from Denver in Feb 2003 :eek:. Anyone in the Denver area remember this car? Note the dealer front plate in the middle picture. It was B5 Blue originally.

    LD340 vs LD4B Differences?

IF you were getting one of these manifolds which one would you choose and why? Both are the older castings with the CHRYSLER number stamped on them. They look Very similar, but I'm sure someone who has used them both knows the differences and which is better for certain applications.

    Would you run these axles?

Take a look at the pictures. I filled in the sbp holes because the bbp holes were drilled too close, there was only 1/16” of flange material between the holes. Now I need to open the existing holes to accept a 1/2” stud. They are currently drilled for OEM 7/16” studs. Original stud and new stud...

I'm going to be changing out the 3rd member out in my Duster for a 489 case 3.73 gear sure grip unit. I would like to put a 3.73 ratio tag on the housing but I am having a hard time finding one. Remote Trans Cooler needed or not?

This trans cooler was installed on my Duster when I got it. It's in a strange place and the 1/2 hard & half hose and clamps lines (while not currently leaking) are less that ideal. Is it a good idea to run a cooler in all situations? My car is a mostly street/cruising driver.

    sbp to bbp

On my 70 Duster I currently have a stock 8 3/4 with sbp (5 on 4) axles. I recently picked up a set of bbp (5 on 4.5) axles to swap out. Will I need to swap out the entire drum brake assembly, backing plates and everything else?
