    Correcting Speedometer

some, if not all, of those part numbers have been superseded. I just got a 37 tooth gear for "IT", and the number has changed. The gear still has the last two digits of the part number on it, but that is no longer the number of teeth on the gear. Btw, "IT" has 3.91's and a 27.5" tire

    speedometer cable problem

Simple question is, are you sure there is a speedo gear in there? Next, is the housing oriented properly? Lastly, are you sure you got the cable IN the end of the gear? It's easy to "think" so, but miss it.

    Rear went at the Track

Bummer. If it turns out it's just the sure grip unit, get a locker setup for it. A budy of mine has one in his Maxi and runs 12.oh at 113-115. But if you plan on driving the car, use the "street" springs. The "race" springs will (basically) make a spool out of it

    I've got one fer ya

Thanks for the advice. I know nothing about this trans other than what the P.O. told me. He claimed it was store bought from Mancini, but I haven't seen any marking that would verify that....IF they mark them. So I'm guessing it isn't set up properly. But I'm lucky in one respect. Phoenix...

    I've got one fer ya

Ok...One thing I discovered while driving "IT" was it was shifting a bit quick, by that I mean at low speeds. It has a cable instead of linkage so I figure, no prob, check the slack. So I checked and it seemed a bit much. So I make an adjustment. Now it's a bit to tight, as it's delaying the...

    Speedo clocking?

There is a spot that will guarantee you will grind all the teeth off, a spot where it will work, and a spot where it may not make contact at all.

    New 5-speed kits for A-bodies

I'd like to put one in the Sedan, but $3000 is just out of the question. To put that in perspective I could stroke the 318, use the Eddies, and buy all new 4 speed stuff for the same money (or close to it anyway). Just can't wrap my mind around it....

    New 5-speed kits for A-bodies

Yeah. I wonder how many thousands of dollars that will cost

    Match up?

Depends on the bellhousing. Some have the patter for both 3 and 4 speed transmissions, some don't

    Little advice needed.

Could be you accidentally adjusted the kickdown rod to long. That would account for the hard 1-2 shift, and possibly not letting it shift 2-3

    4 speed auto transmission

I know someone who put a 518 in a Lil Red and would have had to "adjust" the floor but just dropped the crossmember instead. Personally I wouldn't want to do it that way, cause it would lean the motor back, and leave the trans in a tail down attitude.

    68 Valiant parts for a 66 Barracuda?

Dimensionally a smallblock is a smallblock (although the Poly may be wider) so yes, it would fit. And yes the disc brakes will work

    Dextron VS FA

+3 is still available. Just bought some Let me toss this out for the "experts" to argue about There is a guy down here who has run a pedigreed Max wedge car for the last 40 years. He uses CAT 10w hydraulic oil in his tranny and claims it is THE best. I saw one he had run opened up and it...

    3spd to 4spd OD trans

I can't answer all of your questions, but I can take a shot at a couple. First, I don't think the converter will swap from the 904 to the A500. Seems like there is a difference in the pumps or the splines.....or something. Second, it would probably be a deal IF its a good trans. Otherwise you've...
