    Is my car over-charging ?

Beautiful day here in CT, and decided to take the Duster out for some spirited driving :burnout: .. I by-passed the amp gauge and put a volt gauge in, and it's charging over 15 Volts.. I know I have the high output alternator, but this still seems kinda high.. I checked the gauge against...

    12 Volt vs 24 Volt question ..

I hope you guys won't mind an off topic question, but there's always someone here who can help.. I'm trying to get a big truck ready for sale, with a 400 cummins in it.. I can't get it to start w/o jumping the terminals on the starter solenoid.. Three of three batteries load test fine...

Sharing power and ground connections ???

Any problem w/ running multiple gauges on the same power and ground sources ?? Since there's only a handful of fuses in the block, and so many gauges, does it hurt to run 2 or 3 off the same supply ?? Which gauges draw more ?? Also, what's the best way to connect a hot wire to the fuse block...

No Dash Lights .. Fuse good

I've been hooking up a new tach and gauges, and have no dash lights.. I've got good voltage to every fuse except the one that's for the instrument lights.. I put a new fuse in and still no power there at all ... Where do I start looking ?? Thanks, Kenny

A little "off topic" question for you great electrical guys ???

I know this is an A body forum, but hopefully one of you guys can shed some light on this for me, and you've never steered me wrong yet.. We run class 8 trucks, with Detroit engines and have been having a NIGHTMARE with alternators the past couple months ... After 3 years, one of the stock...

    Bulkhead plug clean up ???

I got all 3 plugs off w/o breaking any tabs, and am going to re-do the fusible link .. I'm pretty sure THAT is the wire that goes to the amp gauge, and the large gauge black wire is the ground ?? I'm going to bypass the amp gauge.. Both outer plugs look pretty good, just a little dull, but...

    Bulkhead plug removal trick ??

The center plug has a blue fusable link that I want to replace ... I can pry the top part of the plug off easy enough, but how do you release the bottom ? I don't wanna break the tabs, but it seems like I'd need mini little monkey hands to release the bottom.. I'm sure there's a trick...

    Bad neutral safety switch ???

If I turn the key to the start position, nothing happens, in any gear or park ('70 Duster 340, 727 trans) If the key is in the on position, I can jump the relay and it starts and runs .. I put a voltage tester on the bottom yellow wire of the relay, and when my son turned the key, it lit up...

    Battery Cut Off Question

I was doing some reading here last night and have a question. The battery is in the trunk so I need a cut off switch to race. I just mounted the switch, ran one wire from the "off" side to the positive post on the battery. Then hooked the existing battery cable and heavy wire that runs to the...
