I am putting on a milodon oil pump on my 400, can I reuse or do i need to use a spring in my new pump. Just what does the spring do since there is no diaphram.

My new valley pan came with 4 gaskets, do I need to use them top and bottom of pan or just use some rtv. The old pan had no gaskets just rtv. I meant valley pan not windage tray. Can't change title
