63 Dodge Dart, now let me see;)

Just to poke the fire, did you try reversing the rod where the bend goes upwards? It may interfere with the other shift rod, don't know. That bend may be to clear the other shift rod. I would have at least tried it by now.

oh yeah, I tried that;) no where's near close:(

Here is my original 64 Barracuda 3-4 rod. I usually just take the rod out to the trailer hitch on the Jeep and "tweek" it using the slots for the safety chains. Nice controlled and you won't soften the heated metal.

I have another question/concern.
I don't have a picture, but the front of the oil pan is pretty much touching the K member. The motor supports are new, but maybe not the correct ones? I found the link below, would those remedy the issue? :thankyou:

The right mounts make a difference. What do you have now?

I'm embarressed to say I don't know where I bought them! But they look like they were "sagging" already.

WEll, I consider that a good thing that they are not correct, what is correct?

How about these?

when figuring out a correct part # i usually hit rockauto's page to look up the part for what i'm working on.. helps take the guessing out

I ordered some, good advice on the Rock auto. they have great prices, but their shipping costs really bite.

I don't know why I was thinking that the shifter rod was going to be really tough to bend, but it was rather easy! I'm pleased with it now;) Can't thank everyone enough :thankyou:

I think with the new motor/transmission supports will be good too;)

no, it went right in the hole, maybe some fine adjustments along the way, but I'm not putting those linkage retainers in until it's time, those things are a pain to remove.

If the last picture of the trans from the rear is how it sits now with the shim under the driver side engine mount, it needs more shim . Also that bracelet seems to be bent at the mount .
Also the rubber idolaters seem to be under stress . Have been replaced ?

Hey Glen;) I've ordered new engine mounts and a transmission mount. I guess I had ordered the wrong motor mounts a while back, hopefully the new ones may raise it a bit, I hope.

And also just arrived is my Mini me AC compressor, same one I have in my Triumph TR/mx, only this one it black, just have to make it fit, which I will;) I may or may not use the existing alternator bracket. Now for a small alternator for the other side of the engine~ this is fun!
