At least you were on the water.
Good eats right there!
A couple of guys i just had in a carbine course were both rocking the ”new” SnW 9mm baby carbines. They had zero issues. However it was very difficult for me walking up and down the line to verify status of safety selector. One of them was rocking a fancy muzzle brake and it sounded no louder than a muffled 22.Pulled maintenance on a few of mine, switched out clips and cleaned my 9mm, I keep my 12 round clip 7 deep full, been to long since I gave that clip spring some relief, think it was last of may.. Still looking for a 9mm rifle cousin, I have 500.00 hid back so far, should have near 750 by the end of the month..
Everyone get out and work your skills today, me...I have brake shoes to put on ..
Not quite on the waterAt least you were on the water.
I have a select-fire SIG 551 airsoft. My brother kept screwing with me one day while visiting, and I let a long burst loose on his torso and leg... from about 20ft. He had welts everywhere. I couldn't appologize enough to him....after laughing at him hopping around.Well I just got back home after a trip to Little Rock training a Church Security Team. They have right at 25 Team members and four of them are female. They all got to pelt me at one time or another with airsoft pistols. We did force on force all day long. I am beat up! If you think airsoft pistols are just toys you have never been pinged with one! I wear a hoodie, mechanics gloves and thick pants. I still look like I have a serious case of the measles! I have welts all over me. And my support hand is shot to pieces. I don’t have a finger on it that is not black or blue. Without going into a bunch of physiological and biomechanics suffice to say when someone points a weapon at you untrained folks tend to fixate on the threat. In this case my pistol pointed at them. As a result my hands get tore up every training session When student after student aims at the pistol in my hand and shoots. I got tossed to the ground, punched repeatedly and bent awkwardly over church pews all day. It was a great day of training! Hah! For me it is simply extremely satisfying to watch the confidence and the rapid increase in skill set as the students go thru the exercises. Had a buddy who has been SWAT for a very long time assist me in room clearing. I even got shot in the kitchen holding a mop! Folks get amped up when doing force on force! While sad a church has to even contemplate providing their own security, if you are going to do it, you might as well do it as best as you possibly can. For me it is a blessing being able to serve and protect.
Be safe out there guys.

.. ok, I won't
Thirty dollars a year for gun club dues is unheard of. That is a great rate. Usually when dues are super low the membership has to commit to “work bonds” Most clubs in this area are in the 200-300 dollar range. Skeet is a hoot! There is no end to the heckling between shooters! Side bars are hilarious. I think we had right at 1100 guys in our league? And I think 8 divisions. It lets teams be competitive and shoot against folks with same skill set. Beware of the guy that shoots 410 on skeet field!Went to a party for car guys from the 1970’s yesterday and I asked a buddy if he was still shooting. He recently started pistol shooting and joined a league. We are going to try to hook up one of these days and go shooting. Another skeet shooting friend joined the conversation to belongs to the same sportsman club as I do. He informed the other friend that shoots for the Tarentum club will see his dues go from 80.00 to 180.00. A guy from Texas now pittsburgh bought the club years ago and totally rebuilt everything. Outdoor range, indoor range, clubhouse, everything. Guys past being a millionaire. Kinda sounds like they will be weeding out some members rather quickly. We pay 30.00 a year at our club. 600 members I hear
I shot practice round of trap back in the early 1970’s with a JC Hagins 12 gauge I bought with a 32 special with ram horn sited for 65.00. After graduation in 1974 I worked at a very busy gas station and met a lot of nice guys. On guy owned a gun shop and he sold me a new Remington 1100 and shell catcher for 190.00 and a case of AA trap Shells for 50.00. I still have the gun and some of the boxes of shells.Thirty dollars a year for gun club dues is unheard of. That is a great rate. I'm not a hunter, and am embarrassed to say I'd never seen the round. Looked at ballistics, and it looks to be a good shooter. So I just got done sighting in the 7-08 I got for wife on her Bday. That thing is a shooter. 7-08 ammo is pricey so I did one shot make adjustments protocol then fired for effect on the head box. Little to no recoil, but a nice muzzle brake. I have a feeling it would be very obnoxious to some one beside me! I was behind the gun so no issue here! Hah!

I've always liked the 1100. I've had a couple over the years. They always went bang and were accurate.I shot practice round of trap back in the early 1970’s with a JC Hagins 12 gauge I bought with a 32 special with ram horn sited for 65.00. It is nasty accurate and very flat shooting. In essence it began life as a wildcat round. The result of simply necking down a 308. It is deadly on small deer, it never really gained popularity as it falls off the map at about 350 yards. So it did not hunt well “out West”. But here in the South in our mountains, where Deer typically are around a 100 pounds and a long shot is 150 yards it is the cats pajamas! It is tailored to small stature shooters due to the minimum recoil, my wife is exactly that. Five foot nothing and an undisclosed weight of just over 100 pounds! Not to say she is scared, as she dropped her last Elk at 520 yards with her 7mm Remington Mag. We practiced at 500 yards all summer prepping her for an Idaho hunt. We would shoot every weekend until her rifle hurt her. Sometimes that was as few as three shots sometimes more. Too much boob not enough shoulder for the 7mag. Not a complaint mind you just body mechanics. What I did not want to do was drive her to pain and frustration every practice session so we just let her body dictate how long we practiced. She will lay in the dirt for two days for a opportunity to harvest an Elk. Over the years she simply derives so much pleasure from Elk hunting many years I would scout and she was the only one with a tag. I had as much fun guiding and scouting as I ever would actually shooting. She is like a little kid come deer and Elk season. Yes I am blessed.I'm not a hunter, and am embarrassed to say I'd never seen the round. Looked at ballistics, and it looks to be a good shooter.
Sure is a shame how bad that dog is treated. So my buddy (another Instructor) and his wife came up to go to the meeting at the school with me this morning. He came over last night and spent the night. It was a lot of fun. He had a bad experience many years ago with Hemi as he had little to no experience with “working” dogs at that point. He decided to greet me with a big hug and a hearty back slap. Let’s just say it did not go well for him! So we go over all the do and do nots for the young Mal as he was eyeing her and she was eyeing him. Hemi has known him for years so he is part of the pack. Here is how they ended up.
