Stop in for a cup of coffee

Well here is daughter update. Tuff day in rehab yesterday but just great progress. She is at an inpatient rehab clinic for stroke and blood clot (aneurisms) patients. It is very specific and focused. It is amazing, she literally gets one hour off for lunch then right back to serious PT. Six hard core hours a day. She can barely hold her head up when she is done she is exhausted. She is walking around the gym with no assistance and now also pushing a sled. She has regained full mobility of arm and hand but is very weak. She can speak and think at just almost normal pace. Her team is meeting on Monday to decide when to kick her out. Woo Hoo! Being so young and fit has really helped her. She was/is a yoga fiend and eats very healthy non drink non smoker. The thing that is really spooky to me is when I was mid thirties I literally did not know a single person my age that had experienced a stroke, that was reserved for the sixty plus crowd. At the rehab center it is easily 3:1 or maybe 4:1 - 35 and under patients vs older patients. It is super weird. The gym is filled with young people and very few older? What has changed physically in our society to create such a reversal of victims? It freaked me out. Again sincere thanks to all y’all for the prayers and PMs of support. From life flighting her fighting for her life two weeks ago to yesterday has been a roller coaster of emotions for our entire family.
Thanks for the update.
Been told (and have observed) one of the biggest problems with PT is the patients. Many don't really try or want to do it, and its even worse in outpatient, and when they are supposed to do it on their own. Your daughter will do well.

This is mine!

Forwhatever reason that song isnt a Springtime song for me. That's a favorite all the time.

i eat sooooo much salt.. can't seem to get enough.. might explain my high BP and 80+ resting HR :)
Its the salt in the prepared foods that gets most people.
Make your own food and that solves most of the problem. You can still cook with salt as needed.

You ever look at the ingredients of salad dressing? or premade pasta sauce? You have to really hunt to find ones with no sweetners and garbage. So even items that should be good foods have bad stuff in them. How many people cook from scratch these days? I think less than even when I was growing up.

NO ONE TOUCHES MY BLUE BLANKY!!!
******* song is stuck in my head now...

BTW guys... when putting the LCA pin through the k-frame do you grease, anti-seize or go raw?
Rubber Raw or use ruglyde or soap to help.
Hard plastic - grease

Just got done packing car for trip to Clevland for the boys wedding. Deer is his oldest daughter’s very first one. It was not safe in his old environment. We have been storing it, so now that he has settled down has a house etc it is going home!

Since nobody, and I mean no one wants to attend a reloading class anymore (thanks you tube) I tore apart my traveling bench. I consolidated it for our boy who is struggling to get by on a young LEOs salary. He wants to start reloading but does not have any space. I mounted the fundamental elements on a cutting board, he can now clamp to any flat surface and get jiggly with it!

You see my shiny new Stetson for the wedding? I wrangled a new hat out of her in return for attending the wedding! Of course she might tell you that she demanded a new hat for wedding as none of mine were fit for public as they smelled like saddle and were filthy! Just a different point of view I guess! Hah!

That's strange how the stroke victim age has shifted. Stress??
I don't know if the numbers have changed at all by age group. I think what you are seeing is that the younger ones are in a recovery program. Many older folks are not that lucky. If they survive it's not to the degree where they can do a program like that.

Seriously though with all those younger people having strokes there must be a common denominator?? I'm not political at all but the vaccine jumps out at me tested for three months or so and then given to millions. Makes you wonder?? I'm going to ask my doctor daughter and see what she knows or has seen. So glad to hear she's continuing to make positive progress.
I would love to hear what she has seen. While the catalyst can certainly be argued, the radical shift in victims metric cannot. Regardless of reason it has changed the landscape for rehab. It would take someone way smarter than me to sort it out. In essence a discussion I would love to hear, but not take part in due to my lack of knowledge in medical arena.

Same here , had a good friend hot rodder , never had a problem died of a heart attack . Just makes you wonder !

Well having spent the week down there I would have to disagree. The patients span the entire spectrum of rehabilitation. Both old and young that cannot walk or talk yet. The program takes all. It will break your heart. A young thirty year old woman that still cannot speak or walk yet started bawling alligator tears in frustration watching my daughter’s progress While making very little of her own. It is heart wrenching. I have no idea how the PT therapists can do it day after day. It takes a special kind of person, much like the ICU ward. Caring for someone with exceptional compassion knowing there is a zero chance for recovery. One of Gods gift to our society is folks like that.

Good news John. I'm thinking stress now a days, some of the younger people need to slow down.

I use a little anti-seize on mine. just a little.

I see that, I need to send you a hat box for that beauty. Sounds like you are going to enjoy the trip to see your son/family, yep, he will enjoy the reloading on his boring days around the house, it's hard on us creative and energetic folks to stay cooped up.
Safe travels to you

My boys head lights are now fixed. Needed some hammer/dolly work and a couple spot welds. Brake pedal pad is installed and grease zerks are in the king pins and all is greased. Bit by bit. I have huge hopes to be able to roll into the Symco Weekender in a couple weeks with both cars.

Decided to beg off of work. Had another cramp a little while ago. Not as bad as the first, but would have been really bad if I was driving...Called my co-worker and got him to cover the shift.
