Nice pictures Dave.
That looks much better.Ok. Tank arrived. Not perfect but better.
I've already gone too far down the rabbit hole in this. Wish I had a laser level to work visible lines.
Sending unit opening is also different on the Taiwan tank

I think your plan is solid, you have removed multiple variables from the equation. You can pull the old body out tear it apart and put it back together at your own pace with no pressure (pun intended) and have a backup you know is right.No. Current new valve body was in transmission that failed. Replaced used in new rebuild. Had to be disassembled to clean. And re assembled. Now a fresh untouched body is arriving today
You could wear it to therapy session!
What would you drink? That thing only holds enough for one!
Once it's worked out, therapy is unnecessaryYou could wear it to therapy session!
Wow has to be different year applications. Whatever you do with the sending unit re use the original lock ring the new ones are way to thin to seal right and WILL leakOk. Tank arrived. Not perfect but better.

My point is/was, by staying with the same brand as the failed (possibly) valve body, there’s no way to rule out the design of the valve body being the cause. Same brand means you’re hoping it’s a QC issue and not a design flawTrans did not wear out. Less then 10 miles driving it. So might be a mechanical issue with body...
Yes. I recall your post around that. I have the original and an NOS one... Along with the 5 or 6 that I received with the tanks and other thingsWow has to be different year applications. Whatever you do with the sending unit re use the original lock ring the new ones are way to thin to seal right and WILL leak
According to the sellers... These are both "The same"Wow has to be different year applications. Whatever you do with the sending unit re use the original lock ring the new ones are way to thin to seal right and WILL leak
It’s also different between the A bodies of the same year..Wow has to be different year applications. Whatever you do with the sending unit re use the original lock ring the new ones are way to thin to seal right and WILL leak
Only one part number for 64 A-bodiesIt’s also different between the A bodies of the same year..
Oh I know. But on the 71-76, the gas tanks are listed as correct for both dart swingers, scamps and dusters, from experience, that is not the case at all. Not unless you want it rubbing on the rear pumpkin.Only one part number for 64 A-bodies
I mean in the actual 64 Parts book... Not the retailer catalogueOh I know. But on the 71-76, the gas tanks are listed as correct for both dart swingers, scamps and dusters, from experience, that is not the case at all. Not unless you want it rubbing on the rear pumpkin.

I saw 10,400 on the dyno tach. It's a 306 cube Mopar small block.
