Stop in for a cup of coffee

-
Hi, one more cup then I'd better get something done around here

Me too, Pete. Only one day off this week. Time for breakfast, I made enough blueberry pancake batter yesterday to enjoy them today, too. Then get some things done and get outside, the weather is beautiful here. Not too hot or muggy, that's coming soon though!

Speaking of dishes, I have a sink full. I fixed some food for a cook out at a neighbors house last night. I think I drank too much! Naw. Not me! lol
I better put the laptop in lurk mode and get busy. FABO Coffee Club is always running in the background.

Hello, I see some of my good FABO friends here this morning.

Just posted something on Facebook about Memorial Day, amazing how many people only give the day casual thought and don't realize it's specifically about those who died while serving.

I think about my grandfathers I never met and give this day to them bro :glasses7:

Raising one high to all that gave the ultimat price to keep us safe and give us this day to enjoy our liberties, I stand for justice David, I hope everyone put's away at least two hours of this day to remember and not take this day for granted :color: Oop's Good morning :coffee2:

Let's not forget the sacrifice laid down by many for our freedom!

I am the dishwasher, plug me in and watch me go !! Hot sink soak and go baby ! You sound like me around the house Karl, I just don't have the two boys here anymore and I miss it ! NOT !! :D

I used to help my mom and do the dishes when I was a kid. Then she would play games with me afterwards. We liked to play games together, so I would help with some of her "chores" so she would have more time to play with me... :glasses7:

Mom also used to let me cook when I was as young as 4 years old. I couldn't use the stove or oven without her supervision to make sure that I didn't start a fire. I like to cook, so she encouraged it. :D

I also used to help with laundry for extra allowance money (which got spent in pinball machines). :glasses7:

But it paid off when mom and dad divorced and we got to stay with dad. We were able to do our own laundry, dishes, and cook. It made us self-reliant and not have to have to depend on someone to take care of us. My brother and I would ask the other if he had some extra laundry if we didn't have a full load, or if I was hungry when he was cooking a burger, he would throw one on for me. We looked out for each other, as dad was busy trying to run a video store that kept him busy. :glasses7:

When I went through my divorce, she tried to tell me that I needed her to survive, I told her that I've been taking care of myself since 7th grade, I don't need her to do it... :finga:

She didn't like hearing that, but knew it was true... :color:

Good point, I should go to the cemetary today and visit mom, dad, grandma, and grandpa. Dad and grandpa were Navy guys... :prayer:

Dad was officer in charge of damage control on a Fletcher class Destroyer. If they got hit, it was his job to put out the fire and "keep the tin can floating"... :violent1:

I'm not sure what grandpa did. I didn't know him that well as he died Christmas day when I was 8 years old, and I can't remember much of him as I was so young. I do know from others who knew him, that he was very tough and you didn't dare mess with him. My aunt said that her and dad didn't dare misbehave in the car, as he could reach around and smack them in the back seat without even taking his eyes off the road... He was very strict.

I went to a dentist once that knew him. He asked if I knew my grandpa much, and I said that I did know him, but I wish I had known him better as I was so young when he died. The dentist just shook his head from side to side and said, "He was a tough son of a *****"... But didn't tell me any more... It would have been nice to hear some stories to back that up... :banghead:

Grandma told me a good story once. When I was a kid (about 5 or 7), I baked a cake for grandpa's birthday. She said that it really touched him and brought a tear to his eye. (grandpa was tough and NEVER cried) You can't buy the love of your grandson baking a cake for your birthday. It made me feel glad that I did that... :D

I showered and dust mopped the living room and Kitchen floors, Treva did the dishes this morning  Corn flakes and a banana and 4 strawberries in a big bowl for me this morning, I have not farted all morning, wait for it!! wait for it :D

Just finished most of the dishes by hand, now got a load in the washer which should be done at 1:15 - 1:30, then another few loads after that...

Now to measure the broken window in the garage and see if I can get another piece of glass to install in it today...

Sat with the wife and chatted till a few min. ago. She has been gone most of last week and it was time to catch up. It's noon and we haven't had showers yet. Maybe we could take one together to save water. Naw. That would never happen! LOL

I guess this day is making some of us sentimental! Just had a great talk with my best friend from childhood. He a workaholic and hard to catch. We have a lot of great memories of our own, and of his Dad who died when we were 10. They had a custom 35' cabin cruiser, we'd anchor a couple hundred yards off a deserted beach. Mr. Clarke would sit in a captains chair with his drink and cigar, calling out a "score" of each dive we'd make off the rail. I don't know how it started but sometimes we "skinny dipped" on their boat. I guess it was just a way to have more fun.

Just woke up to let the dog out. He wouldn't go...

Usually he's had me let him out three times by now...

He started playing games with me last night at bed time. I went to let him out, and he didn't do anything. I had him in the bedroom and he started barking at me. I yelled at him for not going when I let him out 5 minutes before. He started dragging his *** on the carpet, so I let him out, and he "dropped a few" and I could see he had the runs...

I didn't want to take a chance of waking up to "the smell" in my room, so I made him sleep in the living room, in case he had an accident, he would usually put it in the entrance hall with the slate floor and it cleans up easier than carpet.

He didn't have an accident, but refused to go out when I just tried to let him...

Kinda tells me that he's been playing me most nights when he's been out 2-3 times by now.... (what an a--hole...)

My computer's acting funny again.

It was ok on Sunday, now I keep getting "DNS not found" error messages.

I may have to call the ISP and have them come check out my line and modem. I think the modem is going out or something...

This has been going on for 5 days now.... I called them a few days ago and they "updated my software" in my modem remotely, but that only fixed it for 10 minutes until I hung up with them and then it started again..

But for some reason was ok on Sunday, and went to **** again yesterday and today.

If I suddenly drop out, that's why...

Here you we have a beagle on its last legs around 14 or so just sits at the door and barks, let her out and barks to come in. A few minutes later barks to go out. A vicious cycle there do not know if she can hold it any more.

I had a Comcast modem do that a while back.

I switched from AT&T. They really sucked. I found out when I dropped them that they have a software problem in their modems for the last year and a half and weren't trying hard to fix it...

They couldn't support me at 6 mbps.

I get 15 mbps from Wow cable and they have hit 15.5 on speed tests. I never reached what AT&T promised me. I was originally at 12 with them, but they couldn't maintain it as "I was at the end of the line (last connection) and was sucking hind tit... So they lowered me to 6 mbps and still couldn't keep it going, sometimes my speed was below 1 mbps...

I had over 20 service rep appointments in about 6 months including having my line replaced to 3 poles, new modems, and they still couldn't get me a consistent signal. One rep took 6 1/2 hours to show up and then another hour and a half to do the work. I wasted 8 hours waiting for their guy to show up. I started telling them that I'm spending as much time (or more) than they are to keep my signal going and I want full time pay with benefits...

Have you tried putting a different set of DNS servers in manually instead of having the computer use Comcast's automatically? If you do that, and you're still getting DNS errors, then you know it's most likely on your end and not at your ISP. Unless Comcast has stuck you in their lovely "Walled Garden." Ask me how I know that... :-"

Morning, Mine is fine KK is having the problems and he knows way more than I do about them.
