Stop in for a cup of coffee

Guy across the street joined the marines at 16 in WWII, did the pacific, then Korea, Then early Vietnam. Amazing he pulled through was shot at the Chosen campaign that's all I know. He wrote a book that will be released upon his death. Should be interesting.
This guy was on a VA web site much like this one. Every year around the anniversary he'd post a coupe long ones explaining a day from the book giving the details of what he faced. Other than those times he said he never really spoke about it.

Charlie gave me that book to read, there were areas highlighted and notes on the border. You can tell he was there for sure. That must of been hell. He wont talk about any of his experiences except the funny stuff. Ended up as a Top in the infantry.

Was out to breakfast last weekend and saw a older guy with his wife sitting there with a WWII-Korea-Vietnam Vet hat on. Was going to pay for his meal but he got out of there before I could.
A few years ago was in Destin, Fl for training at the AFB. Having breakfast, saw a guy by himself, same hat, and heard the waitress talking about being his breakfast. Got up, wished him a Happy B-Day, and paid for his breakfast. He was so happy!!

That's the least we can do for them. A few times I will see a older vet sitting alone at a restaurant. I would ask to sit with them and it usually is a great experience for all.

Man I have to Uber today I think I better get ready for this storm they are so up in the air about it here. The ground is saturated for the last few moths will not take much to get really bad flooding here.

Pretty much got the floor panel in, just slow keep finding small amounts of surface rust in the seams Real PIA to get it out. Should be done today when I get back.

Should. To bad it is under the carpet. Tell you what I never realized coolant caused that much rust. Just a pia getting it all down to metal in all the pinch welds.

Wife's social group lunch today. Local guy, my buddy Patrick is the speaker.
He was on the last train into the World Trade Center 17 years ago today, for a yearly business meeting.
As they pulled in, they told them a small plane had hit the building and they needed to leave the building.
He walked across the street watching when the second plane hit, and he ducked into the building he was standing in front of.
He waited, watched, and realized the whole thing wasn't good.
He started walking for about ten minutes when the first building went down...then he was running from the dust cloud chasing them.
Lots more details, a very interesting story with his thoughts and feelings.

I'd never thought about that, but yep that could cause some long term damage.

I have to remember to take the lines off and cap them. Still have not ordered a heater core want to see this one first. If it is copper prob just have it repaired. Ton of stuff to do before I get to that. Have all new bushings for the suspension, run new lines after I clean the undercoat off, then pull the motor and paint the eng comp then down to my friends shop for body/paint. Just alot of grunt work to do and Stan has been laid up lately!

I was going to hit "like" but that's not correct. Such a sad story. I remember it well. It was horrifying enough just on tv. I can't imagine in person.

Its hard to have lived in the area and not know someone who was in Manahattan if not at the WTC complex.

You may know, if you've poked around my website, although I knew people in the city that day they all were OK. The only person I personally knew who was killed was on flight 93.
Story of a "Town & Country" '67 Plymouth Barracuda Coupe
Joe was often at club meetings and involved with the newsletter. He wrote some great stories of his visit to England and the Morgan factory. Wish now I had saved them.

Good morning from Sarasota. If someone says "it cools down in Seltember," you know they have not been here. Not going to follow the storm obsessively, did that with Matthew and it got old. Mom's mechanic will install the filler grommet, will be able to have a full gas tank again, yay!

Yes he did, normally he has to stay at home but I didnt want to leave him!
Well time for bed, it was a great day for a Mopar road trip.
Did you ever see Robert Benson's video with your little buddy's relative?
He sits in about the same spot too, until after the checkered flag.

That was a messed up day. I was in Kuwait at Al Jabber air base got off of night shift and saw the tv one and thought it was a movie. Then all hell broke out on the base. No one had any idea what to do. The wife was on LI where we lived and saw the smoke from the towers and grabbed the kids and hunkered down. I came home about two weeks later and had to play escape from McGuire AFB my base was supposed to pick me up and could not due to being activated to do security. Could not find any way home no rentals not even a U haul available. Found a Taxi 7 hours later to take us for $500 and will never forget going across the GW bridge and seeing the site still smoldering. Was home two days then right back for another month. That ride was hell If I knew I was going back it I would have just stayed there.

Ugly for sure
