Mandatory Firearm insurance?

-

Yep, that kind of crap is what got me looking into it.

In the first place, try and convince old Arkansas Dave (or whoever) to go along with that. (It will just cause more of the guns possesed to be unregistered), and therefore illegal and since it will be illegal you then have a criminal who can no longer own a firearm.

Every time something like this comes up I remember my Dads words.
"Our government is slowly but steadily working at making every citizen an outlaw of some sort or another"
"Because when they accomplish this, they no longer have to take your rights into consideration, and can take total control of the country away from the people"

Starting with guns only makes sence, because if I wanted to abuse people's rights and have complete power over them I wouldn't want them to have guns to defend themselves with.

When are the people going to WAKE UP and say "The hell you are"

The anti-gun lobby, mayor Bloomberg, and the present administration are not going to let any opportunity, any loophole, or any chance to limit gun ownership, pass, without taking a stab at getting it, passed as the law of the land. Whether they are successful, or not, depends on us, how we vote, who we vote for.
Complacency will cost every single one of us, another right, liberty, and put another dent in our freedom.

As a law abiding citizen it's no bodies business whether or not I own a gun. Not the neighbor's, not the cops, and certainly not the government's.

Yep. One thing that always rolls thru my thoughts is there are a lot of folks like us.....that live where 911 response is damn near an hour. That have live stock.....and coyotes....If the a** clowns have there way & succeed in dis-arming us does this mean that the coyotes will stop going after my neighbors goats & chickens.....or that what I believe is the poorest county in Washington state will suddenly have the funds to hire enough deputies to cut down on the hour long wait for the law to show up?

That's ok Ink.
I also sometimes forget that they don't give a damn about what we need, or what happens to us.
It's getting more and more to be all about looking out for number one.
Even though they were elected to an office to serve their country and it's citizens.
This is getting REALLY obvious, and I just wonder how long it's going to go on before it ends up in another civil war.

I believe in the second amendment, always have. My wife believes as i do in this matter. We are also teaching our kids at age appropriate levels what the constitution means. My 14 year old is getting the education. We have to teach our young about these things, because our public screwls are in bed with the leftists, commies, and socialists. They are even in the colleges.

Keep buying up ammo for your firearms, keep your powder dry, practice shooting. The day is coming my friends, where we will have to defend our liberty and our rights from an increasingly tyrannical government.

They will not take away my guns or my rights. I will die defending the constitution from the scumbags in washington.

Btw anybody notice the smoke n mirrors in washington last week? While people were fighting over gay marriage, the monsanto bill was quietly passed. Dont know what the monsanto bill is? It gives monsanto chemical corp preferential treatment for development of genetically modified foods, seeds, etc.

Genetically modified seeds only work for one growing season. Once the vegetable is produced with these seeds, the seeds inside the grown vegetable are not capable of growing. This makes it to where you have to buy your seed every year, and not be able to save any of your grown crops to use as seed for next year.

This makes a monopoly. Look for legacy type seeds for your gardens, not GMO seeds. You can use the dried out seeds from your legacy vegetables every year.

We are headed to george orwells 1984 folks. What a scary future is ahead for us and our kids. I wish you all well and good luck

it seems like the government is trying to criminalize gun owners with insurance
proposals just so they have a sneaky reason to make any firearm illegal. if it
passes soon in the news media they will use "a great majority of gun owners
don't have liability insurance for their firearms." just another excuse to get the
general public in an uproar so they can vote for all gun rights to be taken away.

This is a frightening thought......

Ink, I believe the DHS has been planning on readiness for this for some time now.
Chk this out, from the Veterans today website.
http://www.veteranstoday.com/2012/10/06/homeland-security-preparing-for-massive-civil-war/

It says,

"You don’t have to have spent 35 years teaching logic, critical thinking and scientific reasoning to put together the following premises and draw the obvious conclusion:
(1) The US Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs (3 October 2012) has established that there is no domestic terrorist threat;
(2) There are 300 or more FEMA camps distributed around the country and we know that Congress has authorized 30,000 drones for domestic surveillance;
(3) Since there is no domestic terrorist threat, the domestic surveillance and those FEMA camps are not intended to survey terrorists or to imprison terrorists;
(4) Since those drones and FEMA camps are either intended to survey terrorists or US citizens, it follows that, since they are not for terrorists, they are for US citizens;
(5) DHS has acquired more than 1.5 billion rounds of .40 caliber hollow-point ammunition, which is not even permissible in warfare under the Geneva Conventions;"

I know it's only a website that says something we can't prove, but it does seem like we don't actually have a "Do Nothing Congress"
They just seem to have been busy with things we don't know they are doing.

Keep in mind too that they are hoping that people arent paying attention. Kinda like the roman empire. They were collapsing, but they kept telling the people go to the colosseum, enjoy the games.

We have our own manufactured distractions. The average joe cares about football, baseball, basketball etc. but has no clue as to what the government is trying to do to us. Hey stupid american go enjoy the games, nevermind how were about to F##k you over.

Even most young americans think that steven colbert, and jon stewart and their stupid sh#t passes as news!!! They are dumbing the population down with help from the ever so compliant liberal run public school establishment.

This has been a long time coming, the removal of guns from the hands of law abiding citizens is one of the keys to their unchecked power. The monsanto bill is too. They can starve you out since you have to buy GMO seeds every growing season if thats all there is.

This country is essentially a 3 leg stool, the 3 legs being god, guns, and the constitution. Remove one leg and it falls. They are whittling away at all 3 legs im sure you would agree, and hoping to weaken one of them to make it fall.

When I was a kid the phrase "Kill A Commie"use to be around!Seems like people want to worship commie/socialism.......

Your statement does not begin to describe the devastation this bill causes. There was a PBS feature on this some time ago. This action by Monsanto shows just how sold out our govt actually IS. NO big corporation like these people need "protection." It's the little people and the poor who need protection.....the rest of 'em are making money.

We are keeping our fire arms, we are making all the gun shows and pond shops do stronger back ground checks...... So! They are trying to pass a law that IF I have a fire arm I will have to have it insured .....:wack: won't happen in Arkansas ... :coffee2:

Already making money :coffee2: $54.00 for 550 22 long rifle shells :wack:

Insurance for weapons does make some sense. If my car injures or kill somebody, my insurance is there to help compensate for the damages it caused.

Along as the rates were reasonable and everybody--even people like the police needed to carry weapon insurance, it be fair to all and would help the victims of gun violence.

How many innocent people get shot and get nothing but a bunch of hospital bills ? Do we even know, does anybody keep track of the numbers ? Look how many kids were shot or shot somebody just this week alone. Who is going to pay for the damages those guns caused ?

Children killing children with guns raises questions about parents

No its not. When automobiles first came around, I'm sure there was no mandatory insurance for them. Think how it be today if insurance for automobiles was not necessary for anybody who never had an accident ? Would that be fair ? Everybody who first gets a drivers license has most often never had a car accident.

Don't go bring up how its the criminals who cause gun violence, many of those mass shootings last year were by folks with no criminal record. That pro football player who killed his GF and later himself was a legal gun owner. Now his baby has no mother or father, its just lucky his daddy was a rich football player.

Dodge Freak,

Why stop at firearms, insure Xacto knives! 14 people injured. Imagine if he had used one of those black assualt machetes! Insure hatchets, baseball bats, kitchen knives! Our homes should be open for an annual, mandatory, saftey inspection by the insurance companies and a Federal Saftey Agent to make sure there are no sharp corners you might crack your head open on. After all, firearm accidents make up less than 1% of all accidental deaths in the home. Falls top the list, then poisinings, then drownings. Hell, ban water in large capacities. After all, if it just saves one life.........

We should start at your house first and see how that goes.

Wait a minute, is the drift of this thread now swinging toward comparing owning and insuring a motor vehicle (a devise used in public daily, by a vast majority of the public) to mandating insurance on guns ( a device that is used by law abiding citizens under controlled conditions, ie: target shooting, or hunting, or in an emergency situation as a means of protection, or saving the life of a third party)?

I'm sorry, but that is an apples and oranges conversation. If you can not see that, I'm not going to spend the time to explain it.

The plain and simple truth of the matter is that the progressive Left is using this insurance argument as a means of usurping the Second Amendment.
No Other Purpose to the argument.

as I stated above: As a law abiding citizen it's no bodies business whether or not I own a gun. Not the neighbor's, not the cops, and certainly not the government's.

This is exactly the arguement they are making.
They are saying it makes just as much sence as insuring a car.
And you are right, it's BS.

And,,,, so far you are a law abiding citizen, but they are working on that.

This is stupid! How many Thugs are gonna insure their weapons and those are usually the ones we have to worry about. I'm so sick of these socialist scums in Washington. They can kiss my ***.

This is exactly the arguement they are making.
They are saying it makes just as much sence as insuring a car.
And you are right, it's BS.

And that's precisely what we need to do, call BS on this "infringement".

One of my employees today gave a figure... He said that of 75,000 (yes, seventy five thousand) cases of convicted felons attempting to secure fire arms, the Obama/Holder Justice department prosecuted 44 cases. Why?
Is this yet another way of promoting the need for new gun laws, by making believe existing gun laws aren't good enough, so we need new ones?
Perhaps if this justice department even attempted to enforce existing federal gun laws we'd find out that they do, in fact, work, and there wouldn't be a need for this latest round of "infringements". This latest attack on the on the Bill of Rights

This very same "justice department" (if you could call it that) refuses to enforce immigration laws, too. So, another imaginary need for more laws.
Damn it, enforce the laws we already have, you'll find that the do, in fact, address the issues we are facing today.

And,,,, so far you are a law abiding citizen, but they are working on that.

Very true. The administration claims that it has the safety of children in mind, while at the same time ignoring existing laws, scaring everyone, especially low information voters, into believing that new, different, and more strict laws will do the trick, but, to date, they've propose absolutely nothing that would have stopped an single mass shooting, yet. But would effectively disarm law abiding citizens.

The same joke about "Gun Free Zones" applies to a "gun free America".
Criminals don't buy guns, legally, and they don't care about gun laws. Further, announcing places that are "gun free" is an invitation to these shooter idiots. If there's anything they like it a place where they can do their "business" without being challenged.

The absolute stupidity in the way this administration, and this congress is handing this is unprecedented in this country.
"Blame the innocent law abiding citizen". What a complete load of BS.

By their actions, I hold the President, the administration, the political Left, and the Media directly responsible for allowing, inciting, and encouraging the behavior of the shooters.

Look up Randy Weaver, siege at ruby ridge. They have this on trutv.com . This gives you an idea just how far this government will go on its own citizens.

I remember when this happened back in 1992. If the federal government was not guilty of crimes against these folks then why was the government ordered by the courts after Mr Weaver and his 3 daughters took the federal government to court to pay Mr Weaver and his children 3 million 100 thousand dollars.

Of course it can be argued that because of ruby ridge idaho and waco texas incidents, that timothy mcveigh blew up the federal building in oklahoma city as retaliation.

If the government comes to take away our rights there will be a lot of ruby ridges all over the country.

They will try to pull mandated insurance, then if we are all sheeple and comply, they will raise the cost of it every year until you cant afford it anymore. How will criminals afford it, well they are criminals, if they have guns nobody knows they have them, therefore they wont have any insurance.

I will not submit to any mandatory gun owner insurance, nor will i give them up. I clean my guns, and they dont accidentally go off like what happens with some of these idiots,, because i know how to handle my firearms. My guns are NOT where my kids can get to them, like some of these idiots.

I have a right to protect myself and my family. This does not come from government legislation, this is my god given right. You never hear in the media about the law abiding gun owner who stopped a crime with their firearm. Its because the news is only interested in sensationalizing violence and death, then blaming it on guns.

I see a gun as just.a tool, or machine. In the right hands it has the ability to protect innocent people, in the wrong hands it can be used for evil purposes. Its not the gun thats the problem, its the person who wants to use it in an evil way thats the problem. As long as theres evil in this world, i will never give up my right to defend myself and my loved ones.

If guns kill people then spoons made Rosie O'donnel fat

I love my country and will fight to protect her, but i hate my government, these people are so wrong i cant stand it.
