Ahhhh. My late Father ( died in 1989 ) due to Agent Orange exposure, was from Allentown. His Mom lived in Bethlehem in her later life. I lived in Allentown between 68-69 as a kid, while Dad was in Viet Nam...
Bethlehem has improved a lot since I moved here 23 years ago. I like it here. Close enough to civilization and still have back country roads to get away for a drive.

As many of you here know, I have been to Vietnam many times in the last 6 years. And I am married to a Vietnamese woman. Vietnam attracted me because my father served there between 1968 and 1969. On my first trip to Vietnam I went to Nha Trang where he served with the 15th SOS. The 15th SOS supported the MACV-SOG teams that operated over the fence. Since my first trip to Vietnam I've been interested in the MACV-SOG teams. As a lot of you know this information was not available until just a few years ago about how we operated outside of Vietnam during the Vietnam war. When my dad returned to America, I knew he was in the ****. Because he gave me a Sog knife, and a very nice machete that the mountinyards made and gave to him.. I'm wondering if any of you ex-military guys ever had any contact with ex Sog guys during your career? @Sublime one , @WV64Signet , @ZMan67S ...

Puppy decided to leap off the couch and hurt herself. Wont walk on right rear leg. And has been sleeping all day.

Soo.. here is a perfect glimpse into how my life works... not much to do today, decided time to start getting interior **** done.. i get the carpet fitted, went great.. took my time.. I have to drill 2 holes to mount the gas pedal... ******* drill grabs a thread and unweaves the carpet...
I swear no matter how much i spend or how nice i try to make something, i will always **** it up.

I need new sill plates.. but at 300+ a pair.. that's gonna be much later

My absolute second favorite color! I got a 360 laying around here somewhere in this mess of a shop that is destined to go into something. Entire family has told me no more Sublime rigs! Petty Blue it is! Of course I still got some paint left over?…. Now where is that darn four wheeler!

Well Frank it could be worse, here is where my crazy Mal pup decided to leap off the deck in hot pursuit of a stray ditch tiger the other day. Never even hesitated, just launched.

Met several of them, but they were all retired by that time. I didn't join the community until the early 90s.

All the ones I have met retired long ago, unless of course you count “that guy” who manages to be in all my classes. He will explain to anyone who will listen he is a HALO, Delta operator, Marine Sniper, Navy Trident holder, HRT trained, etc etc. Then we go to the range! Hah! All at the ripe age of twenty something.

Yeah, I assumed that they are all retired or dead. Just wondering what your experience may have been with them......

I have a good friend who was Vietnam Marine Recon. He did back to back tours 67 and 68 in Vietnam. He wanted to stay another tour but they made him go back to the US. He did for six months and then came back for a third tour. In late 80's he asked me if I wanted to go with him to Afghanistan working for the CIA supporting them fighting Russia....WTF no I'll pass. It fell through he never went.

I have another close friend SF got wounded going into Grenada and medically discharged. He then did 25 years with the DEA and spent five continuous years in the South American jungle with our 90's War on drugs. I met him working on a task force late 90's and had a great time still a close friend. Fast forward he retired and got hired on a team with the CIA going three months at a time to the desert for recon stuff...BS!!. They'd go and I'd read about a major figure killed. One day he said they had an opening and asked if I was interested, I passed. They are a special bunch to work with never a dull moment.

Basically just Total awe and respect.
Yeah, me too. I've tried to contact some VN groups to see if I can help them, maybe know more about some areas in VN or whatnot. But not to much avail. I have a great interest in the history there, and speak the language..We will see...

I had a guy I served with in the National Guard. He was SF in Vietnam did his tour and then volunteered to stay an additional six months and train the monyards (SP) He had some great stories. My neighbor served in a Infantry unit in VN. He was a farm boy and when he got there told his Platoon Leader, he'd rather carry an M-60 instead of an M-16. He did for his entire tour. He kept a diary which turned into a publication. Of course, as some of you know my Dad was a helicopter polit in 69...RIP.

Dinners done, and gone. Maes birthday was Thursday and I said we would go out to eat today. She requested a grilled steak instead. This ones mine with Tater wedges and yellow squash, she just wanted a baked potato.

I went to a local machine shop and had stainless steel ones made and was $300 but better than aftermarket.

Hopefully a little rest will have her back in shape. How old is she?
11 weeks on tuesday. Feisty until today. But i will admit its nice having a quiet puppy, even if only a day or two. I can see she is putting a little weight on her leg now, but still struggles a little.

And you probably don't have to mow the grass every 20 minutes. LOL. Seriously, it's like every 5 days. :BangHead: Did around the house again today. Back can wait a day or three...
NO not that bad here about 2 times a month at the most. God forbid I have to sit on that dam lawn mower more than that.
