Sold my Duster and my Dart

I am "Moparless"! I have sold both of my restored Mopars. I sold my 73 Duster 360 Sport Coupe to a guy in NY and my '68 Dart 340 Tudor went to a guy in Yakima, WA. They both show the cars and are quite proud of them. I am pleased that they went to good homes where they will be appreciated and be...

    Automotive repair no-no's

Always locate a good/full fire extinquisher when starting a new motor. I had an engine catch fire in the winter time when everything was frozen in the shop. The power steering line failed and the headers ignited the oil. I shut her down but could not find anything to put out the fire. Hose was...

Take her to dinner at the Spaceneedle. It will be a night to remember. Also, make certain you visit the Pikes Place Market. Nice place. Paulsbo is also a neat town to visit on you way down to Seattle. Take a boat ride to Blake Island and take in the Salman bake. There are lots of places to visit...

    Coolant leak inside!!!!

I am thinking the same. I guess I will just have to hunker down and tighten the clamps. At 6'2", over 60 and 275, I have a little trouble getting under the dash! I can take out the bench seat if I have too. Oh well, time will tell....

    Coolant leak inside!!!!

Took the Dart out to clear the rust out of the exhaust. I kicked her down and she rev'd up to the shift point. I smelled antifreeze... Where? I looked down at the passenger side floor mat and water had been spraying out from the heater. It does not leak when driving under normal circumstances...

Need some help with S/S exh. extensions

The muffler guy very carefully installed the S/S tips. He had to do a new passengerside tailpipe to make it mount correctly. I am pleased with this guys work. He used a level to make certain they were 'plumb' with the ground and measured the length from the bumper: 1". I had turndowns before...

Need some help with S/S exh. extensions

OK. I had the Duster out about 2" and they did not look that good. They looked like they were an 'add-on'. I will have the guy put them 1" out from the edge of the bumper. Thanks guys!

    New Members

I have been "away" working on another restoration. ('71 240Z) I finally finished it and have been spending time on my '68 Dart 340 Post. It was used as a covered parts shelf for almost 2 years. It is looking good now and I am preparing it for a July show. It is nice to have the 340 power, again...

Need some help with S/S exh. extensions

I am putting some Stainless steel extensions on my 68 dart. I put a set on a 73 Duster and I did not like the look. They stuck out too far. Anyone have a pic of a stock set-up? I need to see how far out they extend past the bumper. Pics anyone?

Needing molded hood insulation for a Dart

I know Year One has these molded hood insulators. Where else can I go? 1AA has the fiberglass pad for $27 but I am looking for the molded piece. Where else can I go?

    Wheres all the dusters at?

Here is my "sold" Duster. The guy shows it and treats it very well. I am happy that we saved another Mopar. (I had a set of GTX 14X6 steel wheels and stock hubcaps on it when I sold it. Hope this guy knows what these wheels and caps are worth!)

    Wheres all the dusters at?

I had a '73 Duster that I did a complete restoration. It was a 360/727/3.23 Suregrip Sports Coupe. It was Lemon Peel Yellow with parchment interior. I spent $20,000 + my labor/time and sold it for $10,000. My wife said I got $10,000 worth of fun out of the car. A gentleman from NY bought it and...

    A really ugly car....

I saw a mouldy old Plymouth Coupe at the race track (in the old days). It had been sitting out in the rain under a tree. There were green things growing out of the trunk seams. There was moss behind the front seat around the window. It had a blown hemi in it with headers and 12" slicks. It went...

    Shirts

I think the process is simply once they get the master shot. It is still silkscreening so the shirt comes out looking like any other shirt that has been screened. I think anyone can get a pic of their car and have a shirt made from it. It is a common thing, these days.

    Shirts

I like the idea of having a black shirt option. I think the photo shot will look spectacular on a black shirt. It will make the "For A-Bodies Only" lettering really stand out. The blue background will also add some hype.(Look good in either black or white shirt!) Find out how much it will cost...

    Shirts

Don't forget I have an XXL shirt coming! You were out of the BIIGGG sizes when I paid last time. Don't forget to save me one, once you get the graphics done! I kinda like the shot of your car vs. the drawing of the car. Makes the shirt very sharp and professional looking. Can you do that? Use an...

How much for a restored Tuff Wheel?

Tuff Wheel steering wheels are just what the doctor ordered for A-bodies. The stock wheel is too small in diameter for most men's hands. I have a nice black wheel but it is too tiny to really grip. I like the look and feel of the Tuff Wheel. It is expensive because they are hard to come by and...

How much for a restored Tuff Wheel?

Tuff Wheels are going on ebay for $125-$250. I would like to get mine restored but these prices are outlandish. I am not doing a #'s resto so I can use any wheel I want. Maybe an aftermarket wheel would do. I am trying to get a deal out of the guy that does the resto. I like the look of the Tuff...

How much for a restored Tuff Wheel?

I am thinking about my Tuff Wheel resto. The guy wants $540 to restore my Tuff Wheel. I paid $125 for it + shipping. He says he has restored Tuff Wheels for sale OUTRIGHT for $400-$600. Why can't I buy a restored wheel from him and sell my old wheel. I think I am getting over charged on this...

Your parents must have had a very strong influence in your early childhood. You must start early in order to play with such skill. My Mom tried to get me to play the piano. Is it going to get ugly at the mopar nats?

Hot Rod Magazine had the results of their "street car" drags. They allowed nitrous, turbo's, etc. with street tires. Mopars finished 8 & 9. A 67 Malibu won it with 556 ci. Averaged 9.20's for 3 runs. I think the Mopars were both Chargers. Where were the Hemi Darts?

Do they have an open 1 mile track? 2 miles? Public highway closed off? Tell us more about this event. I am guessing they have a few spectators. How far away from the roadway are they? Do people lose control of these cars. These are some pretty fast times! That 3000# vehicle is going to go a...
