    Slapstick mechanism pics request

I take it you are trying to put one in an A body, arn't you? I've been trying to figure one out myself. I have heard that some late 70 B body shifters have it. 75 and up. In the Chargers and Magnums. Haven't had any luck yet. The last one a guy wanted couple hunderd bucks for it. Can't...

    rear end advice

There shouldn't be a spacer between the drum face and the axle shaft. Could be the problem. Wheel spacers go between the drum outside face and the wheel.

Slapstick action for your stock shifter

I had one also. Put it in an extra shifter I had. No matter what I did with it. I couldn't make it work right. Sold it off to someone on here. Hope he has better luck with it.

Shift Selector Shaft Seal Remover tool

I've replaced them with a small screwdriver and a socket. Use the screwdriver as a pry bar. then the socket as the driver. Small hammer, just tap it in. It's just a little bit of a hassle in the car. But no biggie.

    Stupid question...

There are no stupid questions. Just stupid people that don't ask questions. I belive it should hook right up. Try leaving the arm on the 727. Just the hole in it"might" be different size. May not! Just might take a little adjustment.

**Gasket or just RTV is the Question**

I use black on the housing side of the gasket on my 8 3/4. Just a skim coat to cover imperfections. Then used a light skim coating of chassis grease on the side for the center section. That way if you take it out for any reason. Change gears like U do for racing and street use. You can reuse...

There was an E body rear in the Duster when I got it. With the right back spacing tires fit. Only thing changed was the spring pads.

Need to Replace Pinion Seal Again

A good local parts house should be able to help you. Stay away from those chain places. Find a store that you can trust. If they start saying that it isn't in the computer. Walk to a store that knows the old cars. I don't know the right numbers for it. But a good counter man (with experence)...

    Replacing speedometer cable tips

Bill if your just replacing the cable. Pull it out frrom the top. Measure the lenght of it next to the orignal. Figure an extra 1/8 to 1/4 inch for the new end for the speedo guage end. Most times when you cut it to lenght, you will get a few wires fray. Sand them down a little. Heat the...

I'm not to sure, but it should have more wiring on the side than the back up and nuetral switch.

    Damaged trans?

I did the same thing. Totally wiped out the front U joint. I didn't think much of it at the time. But I did put a big long crack in the tail housing. Had another driveshaft that I put in and drove it. I had a vibration. It made the crack even worse. Started leakin all over the place. Took it...

    heeeeeeeelp anyone seen this

You could try a left hand thread drill bit. Sometimes if they are not to tight you can catch it and turn it out. If not you have a hole to put in an easyout.

    Stalling at idle in gear

With a (big) cam you won't get it to idle like a stock motor. 800rpm. I have a mp 484/282 purple shaft in the duster. It dosn't like to idle any lower than 900-950 in gear.

    727 pumping enough

It should be pumping anytime in gear or even in park. Was it sitting with the front end up in the air for awhile? Could be some drain back. To check your flow pull the lines off and direct them in a pan with some hose. Have a buddy start the car for a quick second or two. Watch the flow...

    4.30 gears ? Should I?

I had a set of 4.30's in the Duster for racing only. I have green bearings in the axle tubes. I'd switch them out for the 3.23 for the street. Just an option for you. I traded the 4.30's for a set of 4.56's. hope to get to the finish line a little quicker now.

    8 3/4 Rearend

I don't use the silicone like a back yarder would. just a light coat to keep it in position and seal any small machine surfaces. The grease lets me pull the center on and off without tearing it.

    8 3/4 Rearend

Here's what I do. You can use this method if you want. I have a good quality Fel Pro brand gasket. I will seal this to the axle housing with a good quality silicone sealer. Then I will use a SLIGHT coating of grease. Chassis grease or wheel bearing. I have changed out the gear set many...

whats your thoughts on street stall speeds 727 info inside

I have a 3000 stall in the Duster. I don't drive it every day. But I haven't had any conserns with street driving. I have driven it on 4 hour drives at hwy. speeds and town driving. From home to the Car Craft nats, that the 4 hour trip. Drive it all over for local shows with no problems. It...

    Which would be more fun, a 904 w/a 3000 stall or a 5 speed?

With those stiff gears and a manual trans it would be a handfull. You would be all over the place. Tried to street drive the Duster with a set of 4.30s. The back end wanted to do it's own thing. That was with an auto trans.
