Anyone know how to remove the auto column shift lever?

This has been bugging me ever since I did a manual valve body conversion and installed a Hurst ProMatic shifter. I tried driving out the roll pin at the lever pivot, but was worried about breaking something else by hammering too hard. Anybody know how to remove it? ('72 dart custom sedan)

Dimensions For Speedo gear housing seal?

Anybody know the o-ring size for the speedometer gear housing seal? (The big, outer one) Nobody local has the part and I was hoping I could just get a correctly sized o-ring to do the job short-term.

A-904 oil cooler lines. Which is which?

Just want to double check before cutting any braided line. I think the front-most fitting is the "out" and the rear is the "return". Is that right? Thanks, ~Rev.

m7b cooler orientation. Does it matter?

Got my new cooler yesterday and have been trying to decide how to mount it. Does it matter what direction the in/out are facing? I want to mount it so that the lines come in from the side. Edit: Nevermind. I found on the tru-0cool website that orientation doesn't matter.

Heat-sink trans coolers. Who's got them, and how do you like them?

The more I think about it, the more I feel like I made a mistake by not installing a separate transmission cooler after my rebuild. So looking around online, I'm seeing a lot of options. One option that piqued my interest is these finned heat-sink coolers. Just looking at them, I'd imagine...

a-904. Still leaking after rebuild! :(

Finally got everything buttoned up. Got the shifter in, trans filled, and back on the road. But now I've got a leak at the front of the trans. It's coming from behind the dust shield. Every bushing, seal, and gasket got replaced when I rebuilt. Got a brand-new TC, everything should be...

I installed a TransGo tf-3 manual valve body kit and took pictures along the way.

After finishing my 904 rebuild, I installed a TransGo tf-3 manual valve body kit. The whole process is really quite simple, but the instructions are kind of convoluted so I decided to take pictures along the way in hope that they might help someone else doing the conversion, or maybe just...

Got in a hurry, ruined my day too.

Got all the gears and clutches back in my 904. Went to install the little front band strut thingie only to discover I put the band in backwards... :banghead: Just wanted to vent my retardation. haha Edit: I discovered this after getting the oil pump back in. Gonna cobble together a...

Front clutch retainer bushing. Flush okay?

Sorry for posting so many questions. I'm elbow deep in the 904 and little things keep popping up that don't have an immediately obvious answer. So I pressed the new front clutch retainer bushing in, but I don't have an appropriately sized spacer to get it down to where the old one was. Would...

    Defective bushing?

So I got the big bushing, front seal, and o-ring replaced in the 904 oil pump housing. I dug through my rebuild kit to find the new smaller output shaft bushing (sorry, I'm sure these aren't the correct names, but I think ya know what I mean). I found it, but it is split? That weird...

    Band adjustment methods?

Okay, I've got the 904 completely torn down and getting ready to rebuild, and do the transgo tf3 MVB conversion. In preparation, I'm reading through the MVB instructions and came across a note on "the best method for band adjustment". I've read of this before but only once and thought it...

    Torque Converter Guidence?

I've decided that since I'm rebuilding my trans and adding the manual VB, I should just bite the bullet and replace the TQ converter as well. I mean, I'm gonna be in there and I'd like to keep the trans in the car for as long as possible after all this is done. haha So I'm looking around and...

Freshen up a 904 in one weekend. Doable?

I'm real tired of my trans leaking like a sieve and its crummy shifts. So I ordered myself a TransGo tf3 full manual valve body kit a week or so ago. I was planning on finding a second 904 to rebuild and modify but I'm wondering if that's even necessary. The main problem is that the Dart...

    More throttle linkage questions.

Alright. So I finally put the edlebrock adapter (1481) but now I'm having kickdown linkage problems. It seems like the threaded rod is too short. In this picture, the rod is as far forward as it will go/adjust: (The spring is just holding it forward so I can take the picture.) I...

    Factory shifter with TransGo tf-3?

I have a feeling that this is a really stupid question, but I can't for the life of me find an answer through searching here or google. So I'm seriously considering a manual valve body. After digging around a bit, it's looking like the TransGo tf-3 has everything I want. The only thing is...

Anybody have the part # for mopar 727 pan gasket?

Recently read that the only fool-proof way to get the pan to not leak is using the beefy gasket from the dealer. I called my local dealer and kinda walked the parts person through her search. She said she found it but I'd like to have the # just to be sure. Anybody got the part number? :)...

Should there be play in the kickdown linkage? (727)

First off; When it comes to transmissions, I'm dumber than a bag of hammers. So I'm getting ready to swap motors tomorrow and while I was pulling everything off the old engine, I noticed about a quarter inch of back and forth play in the slotted linkage bit that connects to the carb. The PO had...
