    Difference between 318/340 and 360 Oil Pans??

    I have what i thought was a 318/340 pan and the front and rear measurements are 2 7/8 on the front which obviously goes over the timing cover and 2 1/4 on the rear. Does anyone have any measurement differences between the two? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks, Jake

    Measuring a cam lobe????

    How common for “J” and “U” Head on the same engine?

    Just curious if they would have been a set of j or u heads on a 340/360 or would the factory have sent out one with a j one one side and a u on the other? My guess is that it did t matter and they would have thrown whatever was there on it but who knows...... Jake

    Solid Flat Tappet on Hydraulic Cam?

    Is this a no-no? Ive heard of solid lifters on hydraulic roller cams but not the other way around. I want to go solid lifter on my 360 72 d100 but im not liking what i see as far as the rpm ranges go. Its .40 over 2.02 ported J heads with 3.23. The cam thats in there is a summit 1789. Thanks.

    70+ Water Pump Differences- a/c vs no a/c??

    Is there a difference between the water pump other than 6/8 blade? I’ve got a bigger radiator I’m putting in and it’s passanger side exit so I’m switching from cast the cast style but wanted to make sure their wasnt a difference in position of the pulleys. Thanks.

    I have a set that measures 7.562 and figured it has to be from hydraulic lifter small block but also have a set of "KNOWN" set of hydraulic pushrods that are 7.468. Is the difference for more preload, and if so what would be the correct ones for a 68 273 with hydraulic lifters??? Thanks...

    The 273 i had didnt have a adapter, i think maybe it did but not when i got it. I tracked down an adapter and noticed that on the block it has one or the 2 holes plugged. Is that for the regular oil filter or do i need to unplug that hole for the adapter? Thanks, Jake
