i have nos lifters new in box from the 80s, before i started install today i pushed down on plunger, they wont move, is this normal? i wasnt going to prepump them with oil, just seeing if there was any movement

so i just received my cloyes hd roller timing set from summit, label on box says made in USA. open it up and the label on timing gear package says made in taiwan,WTF! it better hold up is all i can say

just got gasket off 72 340 oil pan, theres divots spaced horizontally along pan rail, new to me, is this something they did back then?i always thought pan rails were smooth, any install tips besides lots of rtv in divots?

just got 360 running,284/484 cam, ld340, 670 avenger, ported 302s with 901 springs,20 initial 34 total.i can take it to 6000 in 1st easy enough, but in 2nd it hits the wall at 5400. is this the 302s not having enough flow, or maybe not enough fuel ?

decided to put heat sensor gun on headers after a drive, they all averaged in the 5 to 600 f range except #4, it was 290 f., plug looks good, valve action seems normal. was wondering what could cause such a difference. and vacuum was a steady 16 degrees.oh ya, 318. should i be concerned?

doing 318 to 360 swap, ordered lh motor mount, seen it on stores computer screen, 5.9 lh motor mount for 1974 dodge dart, also fits 5.2. so i thought i'd take a chance, got it today and it's exactly the same as 318, needs about a 3/4'' spacer. is it possible to find a motor mount that goes on...

my demons been down for 2 months, buttoning it back up today and discovered a bunch of fresh rust inside of valve cover and on rocker shaft bolts. i have chrome DC vave covers. is this common, im thinking condensation somehow, anybody have an idea on how to prevent this?

just did compression test on my smoking 318, 30 psi on 5, the rest averaged 120, 284/ 484 cam, while testing other cylinders oil was flying out of no. 5, added oil to cylinder and still 30 psi , rings?
